As part of the program, several Kendall County area veterans talked about their experiences before an appreciative audience. Speakers invited to the event included: Ivan Becker, Navy 1943 to 1946; Phyllis Harvey, Yorkville, Civil Air Patrol and shuttle pilot for the Air Force; Cleo Davis, Sugar Grove, Army 1966 to 1968; Larry Richmond, Army 1966 to 1969, Vietnam; Wynn Bridge, Bristol, Air Force 1949-1952, Japan and Korea; and Rick Falato, Yorkville, Army. Bob Martner, Plano, Army 1942-1946 and a Chapel on the Green Life Member, was the master of ceremonies. The chapel included an area for viewing of mementos from veterans. Healy said they will need volunteers Friday, Dec. 4, and all day Saturday, Dec. 5, to help sort the foods and pack them in boxes for delivery. Volunteers also will be needed Sunday, Dec. 6, starting at 11 a.m. to deliver them to area homes and to the Countryside and Deer Run senior citizen homes. “Anyone able to volunteer is asked to contact City Clerk Kathy Miller or call the Chamber office,” he said. “We also need monetary donations as well to pay for hams, turkeys, milk, butter and stuffing to be placed in the boxes. Many businesses have been donating, but we need more. Donations can be left at City Hall or the Chamber office,” he said, adding that more locations will be
