Saluting our veterans

The students of Putnam County Elementary School in Hennepin honored the service of local veterans during a commemorative Veterans Day assembly on Monday morning. Students selected by the teacherled “Character Counts” committee each read a short essay about the importance of what veterans provide our country. Also, U.S. Air Force Tech Sgt. Ken Arndt was the guest speaker; songs were sung; and everyone in attendance was invited to view the school’s “Wall of Honor” on which students had listed why they were thankful for the service of veterans.
