While it was beautiful weather for a bike ride, whoever won the bid for these two vintage barn-find bicycles at the recent FFA Auction at PCHS will undoubtedly need to use a bit of elbow grease before cruising their neighborhood.

Another successful auction held to support local FFA program BY DAVE COOK news@putnamcountyrecord.com GRANVILLE — While the large parking lot next to Putnam County High School (PCHS) is typically filled with cars and trucks, this past Saturday it was filled with people and just about everything else you could think of in order to raise funds for the local FFA chapter.

The annual PCHS FFA Auction once again attracted large crowds of people who arrived on the morning of Aug. 5 to hopefully find a good deal and to support the efforts of local ag students. The auctions were run by Bradley’s Auction Service of Streator, and the auction was large enough they also brought help from other auction services. “This is quite the event; it brings

everyone in PC out to support the FFA which is great to see. This is a major event for both us and the rest of the county,” PCHS Principal Clayton Theisinger said. Items from throughout the area are donated to the auction, and the variety is impressive. One of the largest and most eye-catching items awaiting its turn on the block was a sailboat,

and several pieces of large agricultural equipment were also waiting for new owners. There were several mowers; power tools; construction and antique farming implements; furniture; fishing equipment, remote control airplanes and supplies; fixtures of all sorts; bicycles; and
