An early morning run

About 60 people participated in the early morning marathon relay held Saturday near Putnam County Junior High School in McNabb. Eleven teams of five, a couple’s team and several individuals took part in the Starved Rock Runners’ 26.2 x 5 Team Marathon event that covered a 5.24-mile loop. Ryan Bell, 45, set the quickest pace with a 6.4-minute mile average and an overall time of 33.5 minutes. Candis Kenny, 40, was the first woman across the finish line with an overall time of 41.3 minutes and a 7.9-minute pace. (PCR photo/Dave Cook)
