“The Floor” - Season 1 (Fox — Jan. 2, Series Premiere) This brand-new quiz show, hosted by series producer Rob Lowe, sees 81 contestants face off in quiz duels on a giant LED floor divided into a hundred equal squares, each representing its own field of knowledge. The first challenger, selected at random, must choose one of their neighboring opponents to go head-to-head in an epic quiz duel in the opponent’s category. The winner takes over the loser’s square, before earning the chance to take on another competitor. The last contestant standing who gains full control over The Floor takes home a life-changing $250,000 cash prize.
“The Brothers Sun” - Season 1 (Netflix — Jan. 4, Series Premiere) When the head of a powerful Taiwanese triad is shot by a mysterious assassin, his eldest son, legendary killer Charles “Chairleg” Sun (Justin Chien) heads to Los Angeles to protect his mother, Eileen (Michelle Yeoh), and his naive younger brother, Bruce (Sam Song Li), who’s been completely sheltered from the truth of his family until now. But as Taipei’s deadliest societies and a new rising faction go head-tohead for dominance, the family must heal the wounds caused by their separation and figure out what brotherhood and family truly means before one of their enemies kills them all. “Foe” (Prime Video — Jan. 5, Movie Premiere) Hen (Saoirse Ronan) and Junior (Paul Mescal) farm a secluded piece of land that has been in Junior’s family for generations, but their quiet life is thrown into turmoil when an uninvited stranger (Aaron Pierre) shows up at their door with a startling proposal. Are they willing to risk their relationship, and perhaps their personal identity, for a chance to continue survival in a new world? Based on bestselling author Iain Reid’s novel of the same name.
