Supporting artists for the festival will include Heartless, Silver Bullet STL, Jack Russell’s Great White, Fastball, The Nixons, Jordan Fletcher, NATU Band and local favorite 80’s Bush. Two tribute bands will take the Northpoint stage July 6. Heartless performs hits by Heart, and Silver Bullet STL is a Bob Seger tribute band. A double platinum ’80s rock band, Firehouse (playing July 7) recorded hit singles “Reach for the Sky,” “Don’t Treat Me Bad,” “All She Wrote,” “I Live My Life for You,” “Love of a Lifetime,” and “When I Look Into Your Eyes.” Performing with the late Troy Gentry, country star Montgomery (playing July 8) recorded No. 1 hits “If You Ever Stop Loving Me,” “Something to be Proud Of,” “Lucky Man,” “Back When I Knew It All,” and “Rock with Me.” Led by Art Alexakis, Everclear’s hits still are heard on the radio with “Santa Monica” and “I Will Buy You a New Life.” They will take the stage July 9. The Streator 4th of July Celebration Committee has prepared a musical lineup with nationally-recognized headliners expected to pack the venue July 6-10 at Northpoint Plaza. This summer’s headliners include the 1980s rock band Firehouse; Grammy awardwinning country artist Eddie Montgomery of Montgomery Gentry; 1990s alt-rock band Everclear; country rap duo The Lacs; and country group Confederate Railroad. “As you have seen over the past few years, the committee has tried to put together a lineup that has a little something for everyone,” Streator 4th of July Committee Chairman Randy Dominic said in February when the lineup was announced. “This year is no different. We have some great national bands coming in that we hope people will be excited to see.” Despite lengthy periods of rainfall throughout the festival, Streator’s 4th of July Celebration in 2021 attracted about 15,000 people to Northpoint Plaza in a five-day span with headliners Buckcherry, Joe Nichols and Colt Ford.
David Allan Coe and Johnny Paycheck, and have made six studio albums, tabbing several country hits. General admission to the concerts is free. VIP passes are $20 each night purchased before the event at www.streators4th.org and include access to the section in front of the stage, private restrooms and bars, and a lanyard. Two-day rock and two-day country passes also are for sale for $35. The festival will be capped off by the fireworks show from Anderson Fields. The committee said a good viewing area will be from Northpoint, right by the main stage. Fans of the Park Fest carnival over Memorial Day weekend can come back for more fun during the Streator 4th of July Celebration. A&A Attractions will return to Streator for another summer holiday festival from Thursday, July 6, through Sunday, July 10. This time, though, the amusement company will bring more rides. The carnival opens at 5 p.m. July 6-8 and 1 p.m. July 9-10 at Northpoint Plaza. More than 20 rides will be on site. Advance Mega Pass tickets are available to buy for $55 until 5 p.m. July 6. After that time, ticket prices go up to $65 and can be purchased at the carnival. Mega Pass holders
have access to unlimited rides each day of the carnival. Daily armband specials also are available for $30. Armbands allow unlimited rides for the designated day of purchase. For two or more days of carnival rides, the Mega Pass is the best value. The ninth and final day of the Streator 4th of July Celebration will kick off with the annual parade and conclude with fireworks. Paradegoers can stake out their favorite viewing spot along Main Street prior to the 1 p.m. march through downtown. Don’t forget to bring a bag for children to collect candy and treats distributed by floats and individuals marching in the parade. Lineup for participants begins at 11:30 a.m. at the train depot on Illinois Street.

RUN FOR GLORY 5K The first step in the Streator 4th of July Celebration’s event lineup is the Run for Glory 5K. The course, which is mostly flat with two small hills, sets off from City Park at 8 a.m. Saturday, July 2, and follows a route through Streator neighborhoods. Trophies will be awarded for the first-place overall male and female finishers and first-place Streator male and female winners.
Medals will be awarded for the top three finishers in each age group. All entrants will receive T-shirts. Walkers are welcome to participate. Water stations will be set up at the one-mile and two-mile marks. Fruit and beverages will be provided after the race. The Streator Run For Glory 5K is a Starved Rock Runners Club 2022 Circuit Race. The capstone of Streator’s 4th of July Celebration is its fireworks display at dusk Sunday, July 10. Streator hosts one of the largest displays in the state, according to the 4th of July Celebration Committee. The aerial show will shoot off from Anderson Fields Golf Course for the second consecutive year. The 2021 fireworks display was the first time the golf course hosted the show. The Northpoint Plaza field will be open for fireworks viewing, next to the main stage. The show’s soundtrack will be played from the main stage by Starved Rock Media. Spectators can bring chairs for viewing. Chairs are not allowed in the concert VIP area.
