The 2025 Major League Baseball season continues with another marquee matchup featuring two of the league’s premier franchises as the Los Angeles Dodgers get set to host the New York Yankees Sunday, June 1, at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, with all the action broadcast live on TSN.
The Yankees remain one of MLB’s top teams as the 2025 season progresses, firing on all fronts. At press time, they’ve scored 235 runs while allowing 160 run for a league best +75 differential. A crucial piece of the Yankees’ success this season has been Aaron Judge, who is once again performing at an MVP level, leading the entire MLB with a .409 batting average, 14 home runs and 39 RBIs. With the Yankees aiming to maintain their stronghold atop the American League East, Judge will need to continue performing at a high level against a stacked Los Angeles ball club.
Meanwhile, the Dodgers remain a powerhouse this season, sitting atop the MLB overall standings with an impressive 27-14 record. Seemingly carrying over the momen-
tum from last season, their offense remains dominant, averaging 5.56 runs per game.
Franchise star Shohei Ohtani has played a key role, hitting 12 home runs so far and ranking in the top five in OPS at 1.051.
Make no mistake, with both teams looking to win it all, this game promises to be a closely contested battle between two historic franchises as the Dodgers take on the Yankees, Sunday, June 1, at Dodger Stadium.

If you can’t do, teach, right? A washed-up former pro golfer sees the light when he discovers a young talent and turns to coaching in the new streaming sitcom “Stick,” premiering Wednesday, June 4, on Apple TV+. Three episodes drop on premiere day, with new episodes releasing each Wednesday until the July 23 season finale.
Owen Wilson (“Loki”) stars in “Stick” as Pryce Cahill, a gifted golfer who went by the titular nickname in his heyday and whose career as a pro went down the drain following a meltdown during a tournament 20 years before we meet him in the series. Pryce had a long fall from grace after that fateful day on the course. Now, he’s divorced from his exwife, Amber-Linn (Judy Greer, “White House Plumbers”), out of a job and on the verge of losing his house.
It’s almost too on-the-nose that Pryce drives around in one of the last vestiges of his past life: a bright yellow Corvette that’s seen better days, to put it lightly. A flashy sports car that’s been treated like a beater.
In the official trailer for the series, Pryce is sitting at a bar after what must have been a long day, only to be confronted by another patron, Mitts (Marc Maron, “The Order,” 2024), who tells the story of his failures for everyone to hear. Mitts, who could be mistaken for Pryce’s biggest hater after that display, is actually his closest friend and former caddy.
In the middle of a golf lesson with a senior citizen, lightning strikes for Pryce
when he hears the sound of a killer drive. Abandoning the lesson to find the source of this incredible swing, Pryce discovers 17-year-old Santi Wheeler (Peter Dager, “Insidious: The Red Door,” 2023), who is quickly chased out of the driving range by an employee of the course.
Inspired by the flighty virtuoso, Pryce tracks down Santi and learns two important things from his mother, Elena (Mariana Trevino, “The House of Flowers”). Firstly, Santi’s remarkable skill comes from being coached by his father throughout his youth. Secondly, Santi no longer plays the sport — also because of his dad.
Pryce sees the obvious potential in Santi and feels like he can help someone reach and surpass the peak that he himself summited before succumbing to the pressure of the sport. With nothing to lose, Pryce pitches himself as the one who can help Santi qualify for the U.S. amateur championship and charms Elena — leading them to all set out in an RV together to make an impression on the course.
Also starring in “Stick” are Lilli Kay (“Yellowstone”) as Zero and Timothy Olyphant (“Havoc,” 2025) as a fellow former pro golfer from Pryce’s past. Real PGA golfers lend some credibility to the series, with guest appearances from Collin Morikawa, Keegan Bradley, Max Homa and Wyndham Clark. CBS Sports broadcasters Jim Nantz and Trevor Immelman; Matt Scharff, Brad Dalke and Garrett Clark of Good Good Golf; and
golf enthusiast Dan Rapaport make cameos in the show.
Jason Keller (“Ford v. Ferrari,” 2019) created “Stick” and also executive produces
the sports sitcom. Jaffar Mahmood (“Young Sheldon”), Jonathan Dayton (“Fleishman Is in Trouble”) and Valerie Faris (“Living With Yourself”) are the series directors.

OF HARPER ON TCM
Q: It was fun to see the “Harper” movies with Paul Newman on Turner Classic Movies recently. Did he make any more of them than the two that were shown?
A: No, those two were the only ones, and there was a significant amount of time between them. The original “Harper” was released in 1966, and “The Drowning Pool” hit theaters in 1975 ... with the latter film using the line “Harper days are here again” in its advertising.
“Harper” was based on the novel “The Moving Target” by Ross Macdonald, and the character’s name in that actually was Lew Archer, but Newman had it changed for somewhat superstitious purposes. Two of his biggest hits up to that point had titles that prominently utilized the letter “H” — “The Hustler” (1961) and “Hud” (1963) — so he asked for the alteration from Archer to Harper in a bid to keep that streak going.
It worked, and it didn’t hurt that Newman was supported by a cast of familiar faces including Lauren Bacall, Janet Leigh, Robert Wagner and Shelley Winters. The screenplay was by William Goldman, who would have great success (encompassing an Oscar win) by working with Newman again on “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” (1969).
Though Newman wasn’t involved when the movie rights to Macdonald’s book “The Drowning Pool” were purchased, he eventually agreed to star in it, prompting the transformation of Archer into Harper again. Joanne Woodward signed on to co-star with husband Newman, and another notable cast member was Melanie Griffith, in one of her earliest movie roles.
(The same year, she was seen with Gene Hackman in “Night Moves.”)
Interestingly, earlier in 1975, NBC aired an “Archer” television series with Brian Keith in the title role, keeping the name originally designated by author Macdonald. The show didn’t make much of an impact, since the network announced its cancellation after only two episodes had been broadcast.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta BRAVO 7 p.m.
This week, Porsha and Drew look for a total reset, as both agree they must resolve their issues and move forward. Meanwhile, Kelli receives some unexpected news about her soon-to-be ex-husband, so the women gather for some much-needed “R&R.”
The 13th Wife: Escaping Polygamy, Part 2 LIFE 7 p.m.
Based on the true story of Rena Chynoweth — portrayed as a teenager by Olga Petsa and as an adult by Felicity Huffman — who became the 13th wife of cult co-founder Ervil LeBaron (Eric Johnson) and was trained to become a “holy assassin” before escaping.
Duck Dynasty: The Revival A&E 8 p.m.
The most-watched nonfiction series in cable history returns anew to follow Willie and Korie Robertson and their family in this series premiere. Their sense of humor, family values and business — Duck Commander — are front and center once again.
The Walking Dead: Dead City AMC 8 p.m.
If you can make it here, you can make it anywhere. Post-apocalyptic New York still has plenty of energy, but most of it is bad as Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) navigate the crumbling infrastructure, hoping to survive another day.
The Mega-Brands That Built America HISTORY 8 p.m.
Season 3 kicks off with a race between some of the biggest names in computing, as companies vie to create the first portable computer on the market. With the help of a well-thoughtout alliance, one brand ushers in the first-ever handheld device.
Last Week Tonight With John Oliver HBO 10 p.m.
“Welcome, welcome, welcome,” says this series’ cerebral host. In a brand-new episode from Season 12, the quick-witted comedian John Oliver discusses the last seven days in news, politics and current events, offering his own (often satirical) commentary.

The Robertsons Return: ‘Duck Dynasty’ opens a new chapter
For years, the Robertson clan entertained fans with their southern charm and heartwarming family moments in their long-running series “Duck Dynasty” before it concluded in 2017. Now, the family is back with a brand-new chapter in the new series “Duck Dynasty: The Revival,” premiering Sunday, June 1, on A&E.
“Duck Dynasty: The Revival” follows Willie and Korie Robertson “as they navigate life with their growing family of adult children and grandchildren, now part of the next generation carrying on the Robertson legacy at their Louisiana homestead,” (per A&E).
As the family business grows beyond ducks, Willie and Korie explore the future of their family-operated business, Duck Commander. Along the way, they support their children through marriage, parenthood and new business ventures — all while striving to preserve the Robertson legacy. But, Willie soon discovers the next generation may not follow in his footsteps quite as closely as anticipated.
Joining the cast are many other familiar Robertson family faces, including Si, John Luke, Kay, Sadie, Bella, Rebecca and Lil’ Will.
Reflecting on their return to the network where it all began, Willie and Korie Robertson shared their excitement about reconnecting with longtime fans and welcoming new ones. “Going back on A&E feels a little like going back home,” the couple said in a statement. “We’re thankful for all who have followed along as our family has grown and expanded and can’t wait to get
cameras rolling again on all our new adventures, or perhaps misadventures.”
After stepping away in 2017 to pursue personal projects and new ventures, the Robertsons are ready to reconnect with longtime fans and introduce a new generation.
“The Robertsons earned a seat in homes across the country with their unique brand of down-home practicality, southern charm and relatable humor,” Elaine Frontain Bryant, executive vice president and head of programming of A&E and Lifetime, said.
“Duck Dynasty: The Revival” is produced by Bryant, Brent Montgomery (“Pawn Stars”), Courtney White (“Mr. Mom,” 1983), Will Nothacker (“Wife Swap”), Gardner Reed (“The Real Housewives of New Jersey”), Sean Gottlieb (“Court Cam”) and Jonathan Partridge (“Long Island Medium”), with Jeff Conroy (“Deadliest Catch”) serving as showrunner and executive producer.
Fans old and new won’t want to miss this latest look inside the ever-evolving world of the Robertson family when “Duck Dynasty: The Revival” premieres Sunday, June 1, on A&E.
