Another highly anticipated NBA regular season matchup gets underway as the Golden State Warriors head to Los Angeles Thursday, April 3, to take on the Los Angeles Lakers at Crypto.com Arena. Fans can catch all the action live on TNT.
Since the acquisition of Jimmy Butler in February, Golden State has managed to turn things around, quickly clawing its way up the standings and seemingly saving a season that had the Warriors on the outside of the playoffs looking in.
With the addition of Butler, the Warriors’ overall game has looked rejuvenated, specifically for franchise point guard Steph Curry, who some would argue has benefited the most. In his first 10 games prior to the trade, Curry was averaging 22 points per game with percentages at 38.3 from the field and 30.8 from three-point range. In his first 10 games post-Butler era, Curry improved to 28.9 points per game on 50.3% from the field and 41.9% from three-point range.
Meanwhile, Los Angeles has also shared a similar rebirth following the acquisition of
Luka Doncic. Transforming into one of the hottest teams in the NBA since February, Doncic is averaging 23.8 points per game since joining the Lakers, relieving some of the workload for LeBron James, who is averaging 25.7 points per games, 8.5 assists and 8.1 rebounds.
Curry and the Warriors will be looking to avoid a fourth consecutive defeat to the Lakers, with Golden State falling 120-112 in their previous meeting. The Lakers are 3-0 against the Warriors this season.

nurses and Nonnatus: ‘Call the Midwife’ returns to PBS for 14th season
When it comes to long-running scripted British television series, several titles rush to mind. From popular sci-fi/fantasy series “Doctor Who,” which boasts 40 complete seasons and several specials since its premiere in November 1963, to ongoing ensemble cast series like “EastEnders” (40 seasons), “Emmerdale” (54 seasons) and “Coronation Street” (66 seasons), it is clear that the U.K. has a lush culture of appointment television, which remains alive and well to this day.
Another series that appears to be joining the U.K.’s ranks of long-running televised content is “Call the Midwife,” the medical period drama that began its run on BBC One in 2012. Headed into its 14th season on Sunday, March 30 — a number of seasons that would border on astounding in nearly any other market — “Call the Midwife” is available to watch on PBS or to stream via the PBS Passport streaming service. For those who hold a BritBox subscription, Season 14 of “Call the Midwife” has been available since its U.K. premiere in January.
“Call the Midwife” focuses on “the nurses, midwives and nuns from Nonnatus House,” reads the official PBS description, “who visit the expectant mothers of Poplar, providing the poorest women with the best possible care.” The series is based on the memoirs of the late British nurse Jennifer Worth, who practiced in one of East London’s most impoverished areas in the 1950s. And while the BBC series began its first season set in 1957, 14 seasons later the women of Poplar are ushering in a new era: the 1970s.
According to PBS, in this newest sea-
son, “chaos erupts as the Isle of Dogs bid for independence. Amid the turmoil, the midwives work tirelessly to keep Nonnatus House running while addressing complex social and health challenges.”
While looking ahead to the excitement and challenges of portraying another new decade within the series, Thomas reflected that “we are a family behind the scenes, on the screen and in front of the telly, and I’m thrilled that we’re all heading into the 1970s together.”
To call the cast of “Call the Midwife” a “family” is hardly an overstatement, as much of the cast has returned year after year to tell the many harrowing medical tales of the women in the community of Poplar. From attending to teenaged, geriatric and complicated pregnancies of all kinds, to other on-the-job duties such as caring for patients with sexually transmitted diseases, psychiatric illnesses and those who require emergency attention, there is hardly much time left for the women of Nonnatus House to have to any sort of personal life. Nevertheless, Season 14 sees plenty of outof-office romance, protests and personal troubles for these hardworking women.
Returning to the screen for the series’ 14th season are Judy Parfitt (“Ever After: A Cinderella Story,” 1998), Rebecca Gethings (“The Thick of It”) and Jenny Agutter (“An American Werewolf in London,” 1981) as Sisters Monica Joan, Veronica and Julienne, respectively; Linda Bassett (“Kinky Boots,” 2005) as Nurse Crane; Laura Main (“Murder City”) as Shelagh Turner; Helen George (“The Three Musketeers,” 2011) as Trixie Aylward; Megan Cusack (“The Cherry Orchard,” 2020), who is scheduled to
leave before Season 15, and emerging talent Francesca Fullilove as Nancy and Colette Corrigan. Also returning are Cliff Parisi (“From Hell,” 2001) and Annabelle Apsion (“Lolita,” 1997) as Fred and Violet Buckle,
alongside Stephen McGann (“Emmerdale Farm”) as Dr. Turner and Georgie Glen (“Waterloo Road”) as Miss Higgins. Andrea Irvine (“Red Rock”), meanwhile, joins the cast as Esther Noble.

Q: It’s good to see Stephen Amell back on series TV in “Suits LA,” and I know he had a long run as “Arrow,” but how many other series has he starred in?
A: Not all that many, though it might seem like more because of the plentiful guest-star work the actor has done. Before he began his current NBC and Peacock series, Amell was a regular on the Starz wrestling drama “Heels” (202123), which cast him and Alexander Ludwig as dissimilar siblings. Amell came into that off his eight-season tenure (2012-20) on The CW’s “Arrow,” the lynchpin of that network’s so-called “Arrowverse” of DC Comics-inspired superhero shows that often saw its main characters crossing over into one another’s series.
Prior to that, Amell was in the third and final season (2011) of the HBO comedy-drama “Hung,” playing a gigolo who cemented for business with the main figure portrayed by Thomas Jane. And before that, Amell’s other gig as a series regular dated back to 2006-08 and the comedy “Rent-a-Goalie” ... made in Amell’s native Canada, with the subject matter exactly what the title made it sound like. (Another notable cast member was Ashley Newbrough, who now stars frequently in Hallmark Channel movies.)
The list of other shows on which Amell has turned up over the years is a long one, but here’s a sampler: Hallmark Channel’s “When Calls the Heart”; ABC’s “Private Practice”; Fox’s “New Girl”: The CW’s “The Vampire Diaries” and “90210”; CBS’s “NCIS: Los Angeles,” “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” and “CSI: Miami”; and “Heartland,” made by Canada’s CBC and now seen in first-run episodes in the U.S. on UPtv. Amell also was a star of the 2011 Lifetime movie “Justice for Natalee Holloway.”

Q: Is Stallone going to do another Rambo movie?
A: All that can be said, for certain, is that at this moment, Sylvester Stallone (“Rocky,” 1976) is not actively working on a sixth Rambo movie. I need to put all those qualifiers in because, frankly, no one expected a fifth Rambo movie to happen, either, until suddenly it did. Eleven years passed between the fourth movie (confusingly just called “Rambo”) in 2008 and the fifth, “Rambo: Last Blood,” in 2019. People assumed the franchise was dead until, in the spring of 2018, “Last Blood” went into pre-production. It was released a little over a year later.
Stallone was able to turn it around so quickly because he’d been toying with the script, in his head at least, the whole time.
We’re in the exact same situation now with a theoretical “Rambo VI.” Stallone has said, since doing the promo tour for the previous film, that he has ideas for another sequel. He even went so far as to use it as leverage to get fans to purchase an extended cut of “Last Blood” released in 2020, saying on Instagram: “Make it #1 this weekend. (He could be back.)”
If there were to be another sequel, he has said more than once that it would take place on “an Indian reservation,” because the character John Rambo is half

Navajo. “That’s the only place he could go and heal,” Stallone told JoBlo.com.
However, as I said, Stallone’s not actively working on that movie. That’s partly because, as usual, he has about a dozen other irons in the fire.
That includes his Paramount+ crime show “Tulsa King,” which aired its second season last year and is being rumoured for a renewal soon.
Meanwhile, he’s also producing a new boxing film called “Giant,” currently being filmed.
It’s a biopic of the British fighter Naseem Hamed (played by Amir El-Masry, “The Night Manager,” 2016) and his coach, Brendan Ingle (Pierce Brosnan, “The World Is Not Enough,” 1999).

Q: Remember Billy Warlock, who was on “Baywatch” and played Frankie on “Days of Our Lives”? Is he still acting?
A: Billy Warlock’s life is working out just how he pictured it — which means he’s no longer an actor.
“I knew when the day came that I would be done with Hollywood, I knew this is where I wanted to be,” he told Australia’s 7News channel in 2020.
But “here” isn’t just in New York doing stage work, like some other actors do when they’re sick of Hollywood. And it isn’t in Australia, either.
After a two-month guest run on the daytime soap “One Life to Live” in 2010 (his fifth soap gig), Warlock retired from acting and moved to Colorado, where he now teaches kids to ski.
People still recognize him on the slopes, but they’re getting less certain. “I’m at that stage now where because I haven’t done [acting] for quite some time, I get stared at a lot. So a lot of times I do have to go over and go, ‘Yes, that’s me.’”
Most people would recognize him from “Baywatch,” the landmark lifeguard drama whose first two seasons he starred in back in the late ‘80s. But a lot of people know him for that remarkable soap run.

Across her impressive career, Oprah Winfrey (“The Oprah Winfrey Show”) has never shied away from difficult or uncomfortable topics, from artificial intelligence to weight loss drugs and more. Now, she plans to shed light on a phase of life that all women experience during “An Oprah Winfrey Special: The Menopause Revolution,” airing Monday, March 31, on ABC, before streaming Tuesday, April 1, on Disney+ and Hulu. Oprah first opened dialogue on the subject during 2023’s “The Menopause Talk,” but now, during this latest conversation, the renowned television host has welcomed an esteemed panel of medical experts, celebrity guests, friends and fellow women to discuss the traditionally taboo subject of menopause before a live studio audience.
Joined by the likes of outspoken activists Halle Berry (“Catwoman,” 2004), Naomi Watts (“Mulholland Drive,” 2001), comedian Leanne Morgan (“You’re Cordially Invited,” 2025) and Emmy-winning women’s health advocate Maria Shriver (“Today”), Oprah plans to delve into a wide array of changes that might occur during this midlife transition — both physical and neurological — leaning on OB-GYN Dr. Mary Claire Haver and neurologist Dr. Rhonda Voskuhl as they discuss potential symptoms, misdiagnoses and more.
Speaking with ABC, Winfrey shared: “When I was around 48 years old, I thought I was dying and went from doctor to doctor trying to understand why

Produced by Harpo Productions, with Winfrey and Tara Montgomery (“Oprah with Meghan and Harry: A CBS Primetime Special,” 2021) leading as executive producers, “An Oprah Winfrey Special: The Menopause Revolution,” premieres Monday, March 31, on ABC, before streaming Tuesday, April 1, on Disney+ and Hulu.
