A mature bald eagle sits in a tree in the Rock River just below the Oregon dam on a bitterly cold morning. Eagles can be seen in the winter by the dam and near the nuclear power plant pumping station north of Oregon along Illinois Route 2. Both locations have open water and provide a fishing opportunity for the eagles.
