West Dundee offers smalltown charm and regional convenience. The district’s burgeoning dining scene is anchored by Emmett’s Brewing Co. and The Village Squire. Joining these mainstays are Bleuroot, Bamboozels, Elder & Oat café, and Woodfire. This culinary collection offers something for everyone – microbrews, American fare, farmto-table creations, scratch-made backed goods, and authentic Roman cuisine, all within a comfortable block’s walk. Entertainment in the District comes to life at Rochaus, an intimate experience that attracts national acts to this restored, stateof-the-art facility which originally served as a venue for vaudeville.

Specialty stores are again starting to take center stage in the District, with mainstay Around the Corner Candy joined by home-centric retailers Boxwood Home Design & Cabinetry, JS River Antiques, Lady Bug Lane, The Half Full Nest Vintage Market, and Trippots. The District features numerous professional services, and the opportunity to pamper oneself at Spa Bleu and Shine Salon. Needing a break from the pace of the day? Tranquility can be found along the District’s Riverwalk, which was recently extended south of Main Street. This picturesque setting allows one to sit, stroll, fish, or access the water for canoeing or kayaking. One can even spend the night in the heart the District at 124 Lofts, which offers accommodations right out of the trendiest urban neighborhood. New multi-family residential development has brought additional housing choice to West Dundee, with luxury apartments at Seasons at Randall Road and Springs at Canterfield and independent seniorliving apartments at Spring Hill Senior Residences. In the future, assisted living and memory care will be available at the Woodlands at Canterfield.
