We are pleased to welcome our families, friends, and supportive neighbors to the 46th Annual 4th of July Lakeside Festival at The Dole. The Lakeside Festival is McHenry County’s longest-running annual Independence Day celebration, proudly bringing together our community for a wonderful weekend of family gatherings, great food from local restaurants, exciting carnival rides, and, of course, outstanding live music. The Lakeside Festival (FEST) is hosted and operated by The Dole, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable organization whose mission is to preserve and protect the historic Dole Mansion, the Lakeside building, and the surrounding 12 acres of beautiful green space. FEST is our largest fundraising event of the year, and with an annual operating budget of over $1 million, The Dole depends on events like FEST, our weekly Farmers Market+, and many other community and cultural arts programs to sustain and advance our mission. We are deeply grateful to our incredible group of veteran volunteers— the FEST Committee—as well as our many generous sponsors and the dedicated staff of The Dole. FEST would not be possible without their hard work and commitment to bringing our community together for such a memorable Independence Day weekend. And what a special celebration it will be. On July 4, 2026, our nation will commemorate and celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. It is a reminder that whatever our differences, we share a rich history and a common desire to build a brighter future for the next generation. This is an exceptional time of the year for our community as we gather to celebrate with family and friends and give thanks for the freedoms we enjoy. Our vibrant local business community is a pillar of support for numerous events throughout the year, and the Lakeside Festival is no exception. This year, from Thursday, July 2 through Sunday, July 5, we invite you to join us at The Dole for a weekend filled with joy, laughter, and community spirit. The festivities will reach their peak at sundown on Sunday with a breathtaking fireworks display. As a part of the celebration, the Crystal Lake Chamber of Commerce is proud to partner with the City of Crystal Lake and Crystal Lake Lions Club to organize the Independence Day Parade. I am pleased to report that the parade will again follow its traditional route. It’s a joy to see generations of families lining up along the streets to view the parade and enjoy this Crystal Lake tradition. A special thank you to the City of Crystal Lake, Police Department, Fire Department, Public Works Department, Crystal Lake Lions Club, and volunteers who contributed countless hours to make the parade possible.
