As always, my family and I are excited to have the summer fest season back in full swing, and as always, we have particularly been looking forward to The Lakeside Festival which always promises the best in local live music, the best “festival food,” and a much needed opportunity to just relax, socialize and connect with friends and neighbors. This amazingly successful event is only made possible because of the hard work and efforts of the Lakeside Legacy Foundation Board, staff and volunteers. I would like to take this opportunity to say “Thank You” to all of them for making the Lakeside Festival such a successful, family friendly, annual favorite for my family as well as so many others. As we celebrate the occasion of our nation’s birth, we gather for our community’s cherished lndependence Day traditions. The festivities surrounding this holiday include the much-anticipated Lakeside Festival, lndependence Day parade and the awe-inspiring fireworks over our namesake lake. On behalf of the City of Crystal Lake, I want to thank the many volunteers who have donated their time and talents to bring these beloved events to life. For all of those who will come to celebrate, we thank the individuals and businesses who contribute to the success of these events year after year. Chamber Welcome Lakeside Legacy Foundation Welcome Dear Lakeside Visitor:
Welcome to the 39th Annual Lakeside Festival at the Dole. This festival is Lakeside Legacy Foundation’s largest fundraising event, and it is known as the “Granddaddy of Festivals” in McHenry County. All festival proceeds are used to preserve and protect the Dole Mansion and Lakeside Arts Park. The Lakeside Legacy Foundation was founded 16 years ago as a grassroots effort to save this property for community use. Many passionate and generous community members came together to raise awareness and funds to save this beautiful property and historic building. The leaders back then had the vision, imagination and intuition to see this “gem” as a place where the community and artists (both visual and performing) could come together to be inspired, be creative, and celebrate the Arts. We hope you will take time to learn more about Lakeside Arts Park at the Dole, our programs (such as Day at the Dole, Chef Kitchen for Youth Culinary, and others), First Fridays Art Shows, ‘the Listening Room’, Sage and Dole galleries, event rentals and all of our talented Resident Artist Partners. It gives us great joy to see families and friends of all ages and backgrounds to celebrate American independence while honoring and supporting our local history and the arts. Happy Independence Day! On Behalf of the Crystal Lake Business community, welcome to the amazing family friendly Lakeside Festivities, Independence Day Parade, and fireworks to celebrate the greatest weekend of the summer! The Crystal Lake Chamber, the City of Crystal Lake, the Crystal Lake Lions Club, and the Crystal Lake Park District have joined together to present the 2018 Independence Day Parade Celebration on July 7th starting at 1 p.m. The parade steps off at Woodstock Street and Dole Avenue, proceeds down Dole Avenue to end at the Lakeside Arts Park where you can enjoy the fantastic festivities of the Lakeside Festival. It takes a group effort to make the spectacular weekend of events a success. The Crystal Lake Chamber of Commerce is proud to be an ongoing part of bringing all the best our community has to offer in celebration. It is with the commitment of local business and business leaders that come together to sponsor and volunteer their time and talent to produce an amazing parade that is the envy of many a surrounding community.
