Sara Haines OF ‘THE VIEW’
ON ABC
As “The View” heads toward the end of its 25th season, how have you found it to have so many guest hosts lately?
I always look at it as like you’re sitting down to dinner with your family and someone comes to visit or stay with you. “Oh! New conversation!” It changes what you’re used to and elevates things or adds a little spice. There’s been such an array of people, and I always love the unexpected. You don’t know what the new person will say or where they’re going to go. (The regular co-hosts) all know each other so well, because this panel was the same panel that was there when I left the show (to do “GMA3: Strahan & Sara & Keke”). I like having a fresh energy. Are you satisfied with how you’ve engaged with the other hosts on “The View” lately?
I haven’t been getting a lot of sleep lately, so I’ll guess that I’ve been making some fatigue errors. I definitely feel solidly in the lane, though, because I continue to get comfortable in finding my voice and making sure I’m speaking up and knowing what I think about things. Those were always the goals, but coming back to the table after the opportunity I had, I had a new sense of self. I needed to flourish and open up a little bit more, and that’s hopefully what I’m continuing to do.

Laying down the law again: ‘All Rise’ returns
Is there a certain point you hope to reach as a co-host on “The View,” or does that remain fluid?
I never stop reaching, because I always think of myself as a work in progress. You can always get better or more concise or clearer. The rhythm is never predictable, there are days when you step in, then step out and think that you didn’t make sense. There’s always more work to be done, but I feel very good about it overall.
