OF ‘COME DANCE WITH ME’ ON CBS Since you’re an executive producer of “Come Dance With Me,” where do you stand on the matter of being a dancer yourself?
If I can kind of bury myself in the crowd, I’m a little more inclined to do it ... but who doesn’t like to get up and dance? My youngest daughter just turned 14, and she does these dance moves and I go, “Where did you come up with that?” She doesn’t go to dance classes, and it’s all from TikTok.
The Magic Johnson biography “They Call Me Magic” begins streaming Friday on Apple TV+.
How are you finding your first venture as a reality-competition producer?
We’ve put together a great team, and we’re getting great support from CBS – but like with anything, we’ll see if people tune in. If they do, it’ll be fantastic. That’s something you can’t predict, but I think we’ve put together something fun that people will enjoy. And hopefully, word will spread. Given your work on “NCIS: Los Angeles,” were you able to spend much time on the “Come Dance With Me” set?
They shot the whole first season in Australia, and we weren’t even allowed over there. What we did was conceptual, getting the show off the ground and maintaining quality control. We’re hoping for a fast start and a quick renewal for Season 2, and it’ll be a big difference if we can actually engage and be a a part of the action on the set. It’ll be a lot of fun. With your 13th season on “NCiS: Los Angeles” drawing to a close, what’s your view of your run on that show?

It has been such a blessing, I can’t even begin to tell you. I’ve got five kids, and the show started right when they were all in their formative years. It’s allowed me to be home and be able to attend school events, so it’s really been fantastic. And I love the people I work with, so I’m very blessed.
