Local author Dr. John Plescia visited with the book club at the Mt. Morris Senior Center. Dr. Plescia recently wrote and published his book, “The North Woods Adventures of Bob Baker.”
He talked about how he came up with the idea for the book, the publishing process, and read the first chapter to the seniors in attendance. The seniors really enjoyed Dr. Plescia’s book and loved hearing about how the story of Bob Baker came to be. It was interesting to hear about where Dr. Plescia was in his life when he originally came up with this story to tell his children at bedtime.
Each night his kids asked for more, and the seniors felt the same way. The story of Bob Baker’s adventures was a quick and easy read that included many lessons for both young and young at heart.
The seniors learned about the north w o o d s o f M a i n e , t r a pp in g , a n d m o r e through Plescia’s book.
The seniors hope to work with the Mt. Morris Public Library to read this book with some students this summer and host a book signing for Dr. Plescia when he has more books available. The book club at the Mt. Morris Senior Center highly recommends “The North Woods Adventures of Bob Baker” by John Plescia to everyone.
If anyone would like to join the MMSC book club just let Melissa know by calling 815-734-6335. They meet on the first Monday of each month at 11 a.m. in the Doc Stengel Coffee Shop at the Mt. Morris Senior Center (9 East Front Street).
