April 13

Alexander Pierce, 26, of Princeton, was arrested at 2:18 p.m. after a traffic stop in the 7000 block of Illinois Route 2. After an investigation, Pierce was arrested on charges of: possession with intent to deliver cocaine (166 grams), possession of controlled substance — cocaine, possession of cannabis (38 grams), possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while license suspended. Pierce was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond. Pierce also was cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle and inoperable taillight.

April 15

Makenzee A-A. Scofield, 18, of Machesney Park, was arrested for battery after deputies responded to the 200 block of Main Street in Holcomb in reference to a disturbance at approximately 9:20 p.m. Scofield was

Isabella R. Mclester, 23, of Rockford, was arrested at 10:44 p.m. for driving while under the influence of alcohol after a traffic stop in the 4000 block of Illinois Route 2. Mclester also was cited for speeding (35-plus mph over the posted speed limit). Mclester was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

April 16

Ian Lundstrom, 26, of Leaf River, was arrested for driving while under the influence of alcohol after deputies located a vehicle parked and running in the roadway while in the 10000 block of North Conger Road at approximately 5 a.m. Lundstrom also was cited for improper parking on the roadway. Lundstrom was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

Rufino Reyes Flores, 35, of DeKalb, was arrested at 5:51 p.m. for no valid driver’s license after a traffic stop in the 19000 block of Illinois Route 64 for a speeding violation.

Jose F. Becerra-Gonzalez, 44, of Oakland, California, was arrested at 10:48 p.m. for driving while under the influence of alcohol and improper container of cannabis/driver after a traffic stop on Interstate 39 mile marker 102. Becerra-Gonzalez also was cited for open container/alcohol, expired registration and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Becerra-Gonzalez was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

April 18

Daniel Hess, 37, of Gilbert, Arizona, was arrested for driving while license revoked after being stopped for speeding on Interstate 39 near Monroe Center. Hess was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

James Wetzell, 48, of Savanna, was arrested at approximately 12:16 a.m. after a traffic stop on Canada Road near the intersection with Freeport Road. Wetzell was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance (cocaine), driving while license revoked, an outstanding Ogle County warrant and two outstanding Carroll County warrants. Wetzell also was cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle, driving left of center, loud exhaust and unlawful use of registration. Wetzell was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held pending an appearance before a judge. Wetzell also is the suspect in at least six burglaries throughout Ogle County; those charges are pending.

At approximately 10:30 a.m., deputies responded to the 18000 block of Illinois Route 64 for a one-vehicle rollover crash. An investigation showed a Subaru Outback driven by Richard A. Hoyt, 77, of Rochelle, drove off the roadway and struck a culvert. The vehicle then rolled onto the driver’s side because of the steep ditch embankment at that location. Hoyt was transported to OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford for injuries.

April 4

Curtis T. U. Akins, 19, Forreston, was issued a citation at 4:27 a.m. for disobeying a red light. This violation occurred at the intersection of 4th and Washington Streets.

April 5

At 3:19 p.m., police responded to a disturbance in the 100 block of Jefferson Street resulting in the arrest of an 11-year-old male juvenile of Oregon for domestic battery and attempting to disarm a police officer, a class 2 felony. The juvenile was taken into custody and transported to the Kane County Juvenile Detention Center to await an appearance for these charges.

April 6

At 1:40 p.m., the Oregon School Resource Officer issued a city citation to one male juvenile, 16, of Oregon, for violating Ordinance 6-84, possession of tobacco products and alternative nicotine products. This violation occurred at the Oregon High School, 210 S. 10th Street.

April 8

Michael D. Ramsey, 30, of Oregon, was arrested at 6:43 p.m. on an outstanding Lee County warrant for theft. Ramsey was transported to the Ogle County jail.

April 9

Nicholas A. Parker, 42, of Rock Falls, was arrested at 12:25 a.m. for aggravated driving under the influence of drugs, aggravated driving while license revoked, and possession of methamphetamine. Parker was also issued citations for improper lane usage, driving while license revoked, and driving while under the influence of drugs. These violations occurred in the 200 block of N. 4th Street. Parker was transported to the Ogle County Jail.

Larry J. Brown, 46, of Oregon, was arrested at 10:28 a.m. on an outstanding Henry County warrant for failure to appear on a driving while revoked charge. Brown was transported to the Ogle County Jail.

April 10

Thor O. Bishop, 23, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, was arrested at 2:25 a.m. for driving while license suspended. Bishop was transported to the Ogler County Jail. This violation occurred in the 300 block of W. Washington Street.

Gannon R. Zuniga, 18, of Mt. Morris, was issued a citation at 7:06 a.m. for operating an uninsured motor vehicle. This violation occurred in the 600 block of S. 2nd Street.

Rebecca L. Davis, 27, of Kingston, was issued citations at 12:34 p.m. for operating a vehicle with an expired registration and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. This violation occurred in the 1300 block of Pines Road.

Kevin A. Kost, 27, of Mt. Morris, was arrested at 7:28 p.m. on an outstanding Lee County warrant for failure to appear. Kost was transported to the Ogle County Jail.

April 11

At 9:09 a.m., police were notified of a crash that had occurred on Friday, April 8 at 9:30 p.m. where the mailboxes for the Mobil station and the Riverside Liquor Store, located at 108 E. Washington Street, were struck by a 2018 GMC driven by Shawn K. Reynolds, 47, of Oregon. Reynolds was issued citations for improper lane usage and leaving the scene of a property damage accident.

Chelsey L. Simpson, 29, of Byron, was issued a citation at 1:13 p.m. for operating a vehicle in violation of the tinted front side windows law. This violation occurred at the intersection of 4th and Washington Streets.

April 12

Eneolia Landa, 32, of Darlington, Wis., was arrested at 6:27 p.m. for no driver’s license. Landa was also issued a citation for operating a vehicle with a suspended registration. Landa was transported to the Ogle County jail. These violations occurred in the 700 block of N. 4th Street.

Ines Carrasco, 25, of Freeport, was arrested at 10:06 p.m. for no driver’s license. Carrasco was also issued citations for disregarding a traffic control device and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Carrasco was transported to the Ogle County Jail. These violations occurred at the intersection of 4th and Washington Streets.

April 13

At 1:49 p.m., police responded to an ambulance call that turned into a disturbance call in the 700 block of S. 7th Street resulting in the arrest of Joshua R. Shank, 36, of Polo, for domestic battery. Shank was transported to the Ogle County Jail.

April 14

At 11:00 a.m., the Oregon SRO officer issued a city citation to one male juvenile, 15, of Oregon, for violating Ordinance 6-84, possession of tobacco products and alternative nicotine products. This violation occurred at the Oregon High School, 210 S. 10th Street.

April 15

Chance A. Proper, 23, of Dixon, for 3:34 p.m. for possession of cannabis 10 to 100 grams, and improper container as a driver. Proper was transported to the Ogle County Jail.

At 7:53 p.m., police investigated a two-vehicle traffic crash in the municipal parking lot located in the 100 block of N. 5th Street involving a 2007 Chevrolet driven by Clayton H. Metheny, 22, of Mt. Morris, that struck a parked 2015 Dodge owned by Gonzalo Nava-Chapuleno, 50, of Oregon. No citations were issued.

April 17

Angel D. Esquivel, 21, of Savanna, was arrested at 6 p.m. for no valid driver’s license. Esquivel was transported to the Ogle County Jail. This violation occurred in the 300 block of W. Washington Street.
