Channahon Parade Grand Marshal Jeff Toepper, Deputy Fire Chief
It is an honor to celebrate the career of an incredible individual, Jeff Toepper, Deputy
Fire Chief. He was selected to serve as the fire district’s first career Deputy Fire Chief in April 2013. D/C Toepper is credited with many accomplishments. He led the charge on many operational projects and initiatives including refined fireground operations practices, emergency communications interface with our automatic aid and mutual aid partner as well as Wescom, helped develop a culture that resonates the 8 elements of the Maltese Cross and continually shared this passion with everyone he interacted with. He was instrumental in design and oversight of a new satellite station. His personal character outside of the firehouse is nothing but service to his community. He is a devout, active member of his church as Deacon of the Board. His persona and desire to serve the community are all encompassing. When I think of an individual who has been selected to be bear the honor of Grand Marshal, this individual must have a strong sense of community, service, and devotion to his fellow man. The Three Rivers Festival honors spirit and service to the community with its ongoing mission of giving back to Channahon in various ways. D/C Toepper is within perfect alignment with the mission of the Fest; Have fun, give back, pay it forward, and love the people and community you serve. As he makes his exit and transitions into a new chapter in his professional and personal lives, please commemorate an outstanding Deputy Fire Chief, man, husband, father, grandfather, and to many, an incredible friend. He is an impactful reason our community is equipped with an outstanding fire district and our ability to provide a high-quality service to our community every day. On behalf of the fire district, we celebrate Deputy Chief Jeff Toepper and his unparalleled service to his community and those who have been positively impacted by actions and efforts.
