NOTICE OF A GENERAL ELECTION

GRACE PERIOD VOTING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 2026 at the usual polling places in the various precincts in the County of Lee and State of Illinois, a General Election will be held for the purpose of securing the expression of the preference of the voters with respect to candidates for election for the office of:

Individuals that have not properly registered prior to the close of registration (October 6, 2026) and wish to vote in the November 3, 2026, General Election may register to vote and cast a ballot during Grace Period Voting.

Qualifications for Grace Period Voting: Must be a US citizen Must be 18 years of age by November 3, 2026 General Election Must claim Lee County as their permanent residence Must have resided within their precinct for 30 days preceding the election Must display a current state-issued photo ID and/or two other forms of identification verifying their name and current address within Lee County Location, Dates and Hours: except for legal holidays Old Lee County Courthouse, first floor, Election Department. Wednesday, October 7, 2026, through Monday, November 2, 2026, Monday through Friday, 8:15 am until 4:15 pm; Saturday, October 31, 2026, 9:00 am until 12 noon; and Tuesday, November 3, 2026, 6:00 am until 7:00 pm. The law prohibits a person who voted during the grace voting period from voting at the polls on Election Day. The votes cast during the grace voting time period will not be counted until after the polls close on Election Day.

Public notice is hereby given that the official test of the vote tabulating equipment for counting the ballots for the November 3, 2026 General Election will be in the office of the Lee County Clerk & Recorder, Old Lee County Courthouse in Dixon on Monday, October 20, 2026, at 9:00 am. Candidates, Party Representatives and the Public are entitled to be present.

Notice is given that the office of Nancy Petersen, Lee County Clerk & Recorder, will be open for IN PERSON VOTING ONLY on Saturday, October 31, 2026, from 9 am until 12 noon for the November 3, 2026, General Election. Any person with questions should call Nancy Petersen’s office at 2883309.

NOTICE OF VOTE BY MAIL AND EARLY VOTING Nancy Petersen, Lee County Clerk and Recorder would like to announce that beginning Thursday, SEPTEMBER 24, 2026, Vote By Mail and Early Voting will be conducted in the Election Department of her office, first floor of the Old Lee County Courthouse, 112 E. Second St., Dixon. VOTE BY MAIL ~ signed applications will be accepted through Thursday, October 29, 2026, and is available for properly registered Lee County voters. Applications are available on the website or by contacting the Election Department of her office. EARLY VOTING ~ must be conducted in person Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:15 a.m. and 4:15 p.m. and Saturday, October 31, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. Closed legal holidays. Voter Registration and Elderly/Handicapped Accessibility November 3, 2026 General Election REGISTRATION

Nancy Petersen, Lee County Clerk, states that voter registration is open in the Election Department of her office. Notice is hereby given that October 6, 2026, is the last day registrations or transfers can be accepted in her office. Please contact the Election Department at 815-288-3309 for the names of Deputy Registrars in your area. Anyone who has never registered in Lee County, has moved within the county or has had a change of name since the last election must be registered and have the correct name and address if they wish to vote in this election. First time registrants shall (by November 3, 2026, General Election) have resided in their precinct for 30 days and must be 18 years of age on or before the November 3, 2026, General Election.

VOTE BY MAIL – AVAILABLE TO ANY PROPERLY REGISTERED VOTER – NO EXCUSE NECESSARY Nancy Petersen’s office complies with the federal voting accessibility laws. All properly registered voters are eligible to vote by mail. Voters wishing to vote by mail may contact her office to request an application. Upon receipt of a signed application, a ballot will be mailed to the voter. The last day a ballot can be mailed is October 29, 2026, five days before this election.

EARLY VOTING – Will be conducted in the Election Department, first floor of the Old Lee County Courthouse beginning on September 24, 2026. Voting hours are: Monday through Friday, 8:15 am until 4:15 pm and 9 am until noon on Saturday, October 31, 2026. We are closed on legal holidays. To comply with the federal voting accessibility law, election judges are allowed to deliver a ballot to any voter who is not able to get into the polling place. A request must be made to the Election Department prior to Election Day to make arrangements for two judges to deliver a ballot to a voter within 50 feet of the polling place. To reach the Election Department please call 815-288-3309 during normal business hours. Once a ballot is cast, it cannot be rescinded.
