Mindy Kaling (“The Office”) has been labelled many things throughout her career. While some of these tags have been kind, others have been, shall we say, less than favorable. But no matter your personal opinion about Kaling and her work, there is no denying Hulu’s most recent description of the multi-hyphenate star: Kaling is, in fact, a “comedy hitmaker.”
Best known on-screen for her role as Kelly Kapoor in the American sitcom “The Office” (for which she also wrote and produced a number of episodes), Kaling has made at least as big a name for herself behind the scenes as she has on-screen. A few of her most recognizable endeavors since “The Office” include “The Mindy Project,” which ran from 2012-17 and in which she played Dr. Mindy Lahiri, as well as “Champions,” “Never Have I Ever,”
“The Sex Lives of College Girls” and the Kate Hudson-led (“How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days,” 2003) sports dramedy “Running Point,” which released its second season this past April on Netflix.
Now, Kaling dons her writer/producer cap once more to lead the charge on a new Hulu project. “Not Suitable for Work,” a new sitcom in association with Warner Bros. Television, premieres with three 30-minute episodes Tuesday, June 2, on Hulu.
According to Hulu Press, the eight-episode comedy series “centers on five work-obsessed 20-somethings striving for professional success and, if they have time, personal happiness in Manhattan’s most glamorous neighborhood, Murray Hill.”
A simple structure that has been used time and again, Kaling brings her own flavor to the storyline with plenty of witty banter, pop culture references and relatable — if somewhat haywire — leading characters. Additionally, if the trailer gives any indication of the plot beats to come, there will also be plenty of willthey-won’t-they romantic shenanigans along the way up the corporate ladder.
The woman at the center of this particular point of intrigue is AJ, played by “Anna and the Apocalypse” (2017) leading lady Ella Hunt.
Also known for portraying Emily Dickinson’s (Hailee Steinfeld, “Sinners,” 2025) sister-inlaw Sue Gilbert in the Apple TV series “Dickinson,” Hunt plays AJ as a driven-but-bumbling young first-year analyst at an investment bank. Eager to make a good first impression and please her new boss, Bill Gibson (played by “Insecure” and “Running Point” actor Jay Ellis), things turn awkward for AJ when she
discovers how attractive Gibson is. Now it looks as though staying focused at work could be more difficult than she originally anticipated.
Thankfully for AJ, she has her best friend, Abby, at her side to help her hash things out before they get too out of control.
Abhinaya Chilukuri, known to her friends as Abby and played by “Mean Girls” (2024) and “Tarot” (2024) actress Avantika, has herself recently secured a new job. As the assistant to Vanessa Hsu (Constance Wu, “Crazy Rich Asians,” 2018), a high-powered celebrity stylist, Abby must learn to curb her enthusiasm for the opposite sex — even when it comes to a hot celebrity client who began the flirting himself.
“This is your sexual harassment training: hands off your co-workers,” says Hsu in the trailer, quickly adding, “Now sign this saying that I trained you, or you’re fired.”
As both women settle into their new roles — and resulting crushes — roommates Davis (Will Angus, “Almost Friday TV”) and Kel (Nicholas Duvernay, “The White Lotus”) struggle with their own budding professional lives and romances; Davis struggles particularly hard, given his crip-
pling inability to talk to women with anything resembling suave nonchalance.
And while Kel tries to do away with his sensitivities in favour of a more clinical approach in medical school, Davis, like AJ and Abby, has taken on a new professional endeavor. In fact, his situation is very much akin to AJ’s as the two have begun working on the same team under Gibson at the investment bank. However, Davis’s proximity to AJ doesn’t help to stifle his burgeoning crush on her — nor does getting pepper-sprayed by her, as seen in the official trailer.
The fifth young adult to round out the group is Josh (Jack Martin, “La Brea”), whose desire to succeed on his own merit means very little under the imposing shadow of his father, media tycoon David Teitelbaum (Greg Germann, “Grey’s Anatomy”). With Josh eager to fill a role at one of his father’s networks, his girlfriend, Vivian (Stella Everett, “Running Point”), proposes that perhaps he should simply ask. That entitlement is not Josh’s style, though; something which is bound to deepen the rift between Josh and the more shallow, aloof people in his life.

(“Saturday Night Live”), Laura Bell Bundy (“How I Met Your Mother”), Judy Gold (“All-American Girl”), Emilia Suarez (“Dexter: Resurrection”), May Hong (“KPop Demon Hunters”), Bhavesh Patel (“The Good Wife”) and Michael Benjamin Washington (“American Auto”) also appear in recurring roles throughout the freshman season of the series.
“Saturday Night Live” writer Charlie Grandy serves as showrunner for the Kaling-created series, while he and Kaling share executive producer duties with Howard Klein (“Jessica Jones”) and Ayesha Rokadia (“That Damn Michael Che”).

Season 5 of ‘Clarkson’s Farm’ sees financial concerns for Diddly Squat Farms

Deep in the English countryside, television personality Jeremy Clarkson (“Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?”) found himself a home far away from the busy streets of London. From “Top Gear” to “The Grand Tour,” Clarkson made an impression on audiences across the globe — and many wondered if Jeremy’s move to the Cotswolds would be the end of his storied career — but that wasn’t the case at all. In fact, it was a new beginning, as Jeremy began his greatest adventure yet: owning and operating the 1,000-acre Diddly Squat Farm.
Now, longtime viewers and newfangled fans can return to the Cotswolds with Jeremy and the Diddly Squat crew as a new season of “Clarkson’s Farm” makes its debut Wednesday, June 3, on Prime Video. The initial episode drop will consist of four episodes, with two more episodes releasing Wednesday, June 10, and the final two installments releasing the following Wednesday, June 17.
Having first debuted in 2021, “Clarkson’s Farm” has followed Jeremy through the ups and downs of country living. Early seasons charmed viewers by showcasing Jeremy’s total lack of farming experience, but even now, with plenty of experience gained, Jeremy still faces unexpected challenges in each and every season — from bad weather and unresponsive crops to disobedient animals and game-changing technologies.
According to a synopsis given by Amazon, Jeremy will see plenty more struggles in the upcoming fifth season.
“‘Clarkson’s Farm’ is back,” the synopsis reads, “and amidst a government budget that sends the U.K. farming community into uproar, Jeremy decides some big changes are needed to make the farm run more smoothly. But while the farm tries to go high-tech — resulting in Kaleb’s first ever trip abroad — even bigger developments are heading for Diddly Squat that are going to prove much more of a challenge.”
With the release of Season 5, fans can also expect appearances from some Diddly Squat favorites, including Clarkson’s partner, Lisa Hogan, and beloved farmhand Kaleb Cooper — who was absent for part of Season 4 as he completed a U.K.-wide tour of his solo stage show, “The World According to Kaleb — Kaleb Goes on Tour.” While their participation has yet to be confirmed, viewers will likely see the return of farmhands Gerald Cooper and Charlie Ireland as well, with some speculating a potential return for Season 4 inductee Harriet Cowan, who offered a helping hand on the farm while Jeremy tackled a new project.
First introduced in Season 4, this latest venture saw Jeremy purchasing, renovating and reopen-
ing a once-abandoned pub, now lovingly called The Farmer’s Dog.
“Created as a celebration of British farming and the brilliant things it produces,” per the pub’s official website, The Farmer’s Dog exclusively uses products made in Britain — including everything from your main course, to your appetizers and desserts, to the salt and pepper sitting on the table.
Since its opening in 2024, Jeremy has openly shared that running a pub is “more stressful than running a farm” (per BBC), leaving many to assume we’ll see more farm-to-table struggles as Jeremy’s story continues through Season 5.
“I’d spend all day trying desperately to get the pub open and dealing with hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of problems, then you get home absolutely knackered, and you have to get into your tractor and do grain carting through the night,” the farmer explained, speaking with the BBC.
Despite his struggles, Jeremy has stayed optimistic about the pub, seeing it as an important meeting space for local farmers. In the same BBC interview, Jeremy described The Farmer’s Dog as “somewhere where farmers could go, if it’s raining on a Tuesday afternoon and they can’t work on their farm.”
“They could come and have a pint and meet other farmers,” he said.
Diddly Squat farmhand Kaleb added: “Actually, they need to start using it a bit more and just go for a pint and a chat. It’s important we talk, we’ve all got the same worries and the same stresses, so therefore we ought to talk to each other about it.”
With his plate seemingly overflowing, fans have wondered if filming for “Clarkson’s Farm” might take a backseat for Jeremy and Diddly Squat Farms. But while Jeremy has openly acknowledged that the show is likely to end before long — previously telling Radio Times that he would stop producing new series “when there are no more ideas” — he has also promised a return for Season 6, concluding: “We’ll do [Season 6] and then we’ll see.”

“Meals in Minutes” is one of the many projects that Ray has launched from her latest venture, Free Food Studios.

“Office Romance” (2026)
She’s the most powerful woman in the room until love becomes her biggest liability in “Office Romance,” premiering Friday, June 5, only on Netflix. Jackie Cruz (Jennifer Lopez, “The Backup Plan,” 2010) is not a boss you want to disappoint. A perfectionist CEO of Air Cruz, she runs a tight ship in her business — which includes a rigid anti-fraternization policy for all her employees, and that same policy is put to the test when Daniel Blanchflower — played by “Ted Lasso’s” Brett Goldstein, who cowrote the script alongside “Ted Lasso” collaborator Joe Kelly — walks through her door. Daniel, the company’s new lawyer, is exactly the kind of complication Jackie cannot afford. But longing boardroom glances have a way of becoming raunchy island romps, and soon everything Jackie’s worked for is at risk. Directed by Ol Parker (“Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again,” 2018), “Office Romance” features a scene-stealing ensemble cast that includes Betty Gilpin (“Isn’t It Romantic,” 2019), Amy Sedaris (“Jennifer’s Body,” 2009), Tony Hale (“Arrested Development”) and Bradley Whitford (“The West Wing”).
“The Witness” - Season 1
Based on a true story, Netflix’s latest true crime drama, “The Witness,” arrives on the streamer Thursday, June 4. This three-part limited series opens on a quiet July morning in 1992, when 23-year-old Rachel Nickell (Eleanor Williams, “Halo: Nightfall”) was brutally murdered during a walk through a London park — leaving her two-year-old son, Alex, (Jahsaiah Williams, in his first role) as the sole witness. Overnight, her partner, Andre (Jordan Bolger, “Peaky Blinders”), became a single father, forced to shield their traumatized son from a relentless
media frenzy while the police investigation lasted over 16 years. Created by “The Victim” writer Rob Williams and directed by Alex Winckler (“Mary and George”), the series also stars Max Fincham (“The Tower”) and Neil Maskell (“Hijack”). A companion documentary, “The Murder of Rachel Nickell,” arrives on the streamer two days later, on Saturday, June 6.

“Cape Fear” - Season 1
Inspired by Martin Scorsese’s (“Taxi Driver,” 1976) 1991 thriller of the same name, Season 1 of the psychological horror series “Cape Fear” begins Friday, June 5, on Apple TV. A storm is coming for happily married attorneys Anna and Tom Bowden — played by Academy Award nominee Amy Adams (“Enchanted,” 2007) and Golden Globe and Emmy nominee Patrick Wilson (“Insidious,” 2010) — when Max Cady (Javier Bardem, “Skyfall,” 2012), the notorious killer they helped put behind bars, is released from prison and begins playing twisted mind games with the couple as a means of revenge. Q: How many “Planet of the Apes” movies were there in total? And what order did they come out in?
A: It should surprise no one to hear that this isn’t as straightforward as it sounds.
Assuming you’re just referring to the original, classic film series starting in the late ‘60s, there were five films: “Planet of the Apes” (1968), then “Beneath the Planet of the Apes” (1970), “Escape From the Planet of the Apes” (1971), “Conquest of the Planet of the Apes” (1972) and “Battle for the Planet of the Apes” (1973).
But this is where things start to get complicated. The following year, 1974, saw the release of a TV series — simply, but confusingly, also called “The Planet of the Apes” — on CBS. It was canceled after a single season.
This was a bit of a surprise as it starred Roddy McDowall (“Cleopatra,” 1963), who starred in the original films, and it had a similar level of production value.
But in the years after the show’s cancelation, interest in the Planet of the Apes franchise lived on. So six years later, in order to get the TV show into syndication (a single-season of 14 episodes wouldn’t normally be enough to qualify for reruns), 20th Century Fox repackaged 10 of the episodes as two-hour movies.
So there’s a whole other subset of five movies, all released in 1980: “Back to the Planet of the Apes,” “Life, Liberty and Pursuit on the Planet of the Apes,” “Treachery and Greed on the Planet of the Apes,” “The Forgotten City of the Planet of
the Apes” and “Farewell to the Planet of the Apes.”
And, of course, there are the four revival films that came in the new millennium. It’s been nine years since the last one, 2017’s “War for the Planet of the Apes,” but that grossed half a billion dollars at the box office, so there’s clearly still life in the franchise.
Q: Does Alan Cumming just do “The Traitors” now? He used to act.
A: You could say he’s a victim of his own success — the once-varied career of Alan Cumming (“The Anniversary Party,” 2001) has been dominated mostly by his duties as host of the smashhit reality show “The Traitors” since it debuted in 2023.
I say duties, plural, because, on top of hosting the show, he’s also been promoting the show tirelessly on the talk-show circuit.
But he still finds time for acting work, which is clearly in his blood (he’s a graduate of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and performed for a while with the Royal Shakespeare Company in his early days).
For example, he starred in the 2025 dramedy film “Glenrothan” and in the 2024 Canadian indie drama “Drive Back Home.”
While a lot of his acting work has, like those two projects, flown under the radar a little, not all of it has. For example, he had a voice role in a “Doctor Who” episode last year — that show is about as high-profile as it gets.
Well, not quite — at least not compared to his next acting gig.
This December, he’ll appear in one of the most highly anticipated movies of the last few years: “Avengers: Doomsday.” This one will fully unite Marvel’s two biggest franchises, incorporating the X-Men characters that featured in a string of
hit adaptations in the ‘00s. Cumming will be there, reprising his role as Kurt Wagner, better known as Nightcrawler — he originally portrayed the character in 2003’s “X2: X-Men United.”
Given that the Marvel movies just keep getting packed with more and more characters, Cumming should have no problem balancing his filming duties for that one with his ongoing “Traitors” gig.
