COLD SNAP Mid-winter weather already well established Photos by Steven Buyansky for Shaw Media
It’s only December, but a January weather pattern has already established itself in Kendall County and across northern Illinois. Snowstorms on Friday and then on Saturday night were followed by a big blast of cold, Arctic air that caused temperatures to plummet below zero Sunday. By mid-week, the temperatures had moderated considerably but also increased the possibility for still more snow. Area residents made the best of the winter weather extreme, however, as children enjoyed playing in the snow as their parents and older siblings shoveled out driveways and sidewalks. Local sledding hills were also busy on Sunday afternoon. See more photos on page 6.
