Chamber CEO Letter

Fall is definitely in the air and the holidays are fast approaching. This last year has been rough in so many ways for so many people. I lost my dad to cancer just over a year ago and thank goodness I had this great community behind me, supporting me and giving me something to focus on so I didn’t wallow in grief. I would like to thank the business community for standing tall, standing strong and working together. The last year and a half has been interesting and a struggle for many. I am encouraged by the enthusiasm and the working together to make things happen and continue.
Starting in January the Oswego Downtown Association is coming under the chamber umbrella as an arm of the chamber. What that means to our downtown merchants is a great savings on their dues if they are a member of OACC. Watch for more information to come out soon regarding this. #Downtown Dollars are available for many of the downtown businesses and can be purchased at the chamber office. I also want everyone to encourage people to #SHOPSMALL #SHOPOSWEGO this holiday season. It means so much to see people in our downtown eating, drinking and shopping. We’ve had so many great new additions – 113 Main and Fox Valley Winery and soon The Dairy Barn to add to our already fantastic stores and restaurants. Watch for the opening day of Freddies Off The Chain – they have their permits and work has started. I can’t wait for that ribbon cutting – Mona has worked so hard and already has made an impact on this community with her food trucks. Thank you to everyone who joined the chamber this year or referred a business to the chamber. I love meeting new businesses, learning about them and helping them celebrate their successes. Also if you are celebrating a milestone year – 5 years, 10 year, 15 years in business we can do a ribbon cutting ceremony for you to celebrate. Call us at the Chamber to learn more.
