o far, the search for a potentially venomous snake on the loose in the Mill Creek subdivision near Geneva has come up empty. Husband and wife Brad and Katy Lundsteen, of St. Charlesbased Suburban Wildlife Control, were searching for the snake near a house on Revere House Lane, where the snake reportedly was seen by a roofer who was working on a house. Brad Lundsteen set up a trap for the snake but as of about 6 p.m. Wednesday, the trap had not yet captured the snake, which he

attributed to Wednesday’s cloudy and cool conditions. “It’s not going to come out until it’s warm out or sunny,” he said. “Once it gets sunny, it will be out again.” Katy Lundsteen said the homeowner contacted Suburban Wildlife Control after the roofer reported seeing the snake, thought to be a cottonmouth, a venomous snake which resides mainly in the southeastern United States. “[The roofer] said it was black and had an open white mouth,” Katy Lundsteen said. TV news reports showed photos Tuesday night of a cottonmouth snake reportedly taken by someone who had seen the snake
