DAY OF SERVICE Waubonsee students volunteer on campus, in Aurora / 2 LOOKING FORWARD Elburn railroad crossing closed for maintenance ELBURN – The railroad crossing on Route 47 in Elburn will be closed through 5 p.m. Thursday as Union Pacific officials perform maintenance on the tracks. The village’s First Street crossing, a block east of Route 47, will remain open.

GENEVA – A free Third Friday Community Dinner event is set from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Fox Valley Presbyterian Church, 227 E. Side Drive, Geneva. The menu features king ranch chicken, green salad, rolls, cake and beverages. A children’s menu always is available. Guests may dine-in or carry-out. Reservations are not needed.
