Welcome!
Hello and welcome to the 20232024 Orland Community Guide!

For those of you who don’t know me, I was born and raised in Park Forest, IL. Orland is as far as I got because there was no need to be anywhere else. As a business owner, I have been a chamber member for over a decade. I am a past OPACC (Orland Park Area Chamber of Commerce) President. I am an Orland Park resident and I have kids that have gone through district 135 and 230 schools. To say that I am “all things Orland” is an understatement. I literally eat, drink and breathe Orland. It’s not too difficult to do. I mean, look at our surroundings. We have everything we could ever need right at our fingertips. We have food, recreation, healthcare, retail, home services and even services and products for our fur babies. But I digress. I’ll let you take a look at this guide and see for yourself what piques your interest.
In addition to putting out this community guide and holding monthly membership meetings, OPACC typically has four signature events each year. These events include our Orland Women’s Networking (OWN) Luncheon, Golf Outing, Arts & Drafts and our Community Expo.

We all know that times are changing and so must we. As a result, we have upped our event game.
Our OWN Luncheon will take place at Silver Lake Country Club on Thursday, April 27, 2023. While it is catered to ladies, all are welcome to participate as sponsors and attendees. Please refer to the website below for more information. Next, we have a bit of a twist on Arts & Drafts. Usually held in September, we are moving it up to June to be part of our “OPACC SUMMERFEST.” More information will follow, but this event is going to be the bee’s knees. On Father’s Day Weekend (June 15-18, 2023), we are going all out to have amazing events for our Orland Community. If you are familiar with “Orland Days,” this event was originated by the chamber, taken over by the Lions Club, and now, the Chamber is picking it up again. We are having a Carnival (with a sensory session), Arts & Drafts, Outdoor Expo, AND a an Antique Car Show! There will be entertainment throughout the fest and more fun than you have surely had in a very long time. (Or at least in the last few years.) Summerfest will have something for everyone. If you don’t believe me, you will just have to come and see for yourself. This event will be held at the “Triangle” located just north of 143rd Street and LaGrange.
On October 3rd at Silver Lake Country Club, we will have our Halloween-themed golf outing. You may be too old to go trick-or-treating, but we will celebrate Halloween grown-up style with more treats than tricks. Well, no promises on that one, but it is going to be a lot of fun. Round up your foursome and get one final game in for the season.
To round out our busy year, we will have our Community Expo at Orland Square Mall on November 4, 2023. This is a great opportunity to not only get a jump on your holiday shopping but also to learn about businesses within the chamber. The best part is that you get to do it all in one place!
In case you couldn’t tell, I am passionate about the Chamber and our community. In addition to our signature events, we have monthly membership meetings, professional development sessions, networking opportunities and ribbon cuttings. If you own a business or know of someone looking to grow connections, gain professional knowledge and have fun in the process, we are your one-stop shop. Don’t be a stranger, visit us at www.orlandparkchamber.org.
Thank you for your time!
I appreciate you,
RENEE CREWS Executive Director Orland Park Area Chamber of Commerce

The key to the success of any community for its growth and tax base is the investment of partners in all sectors, including residential, commercial, real estate, retail, healthcare, food, entertainment, and more.
In its continuing efforts to improve its economic development operations and marketing efforts, the Village of Orland Park launched an effective tool with the new website www.buildop.org in 2021.
The site serves as a digital resource for business as well as the development community. As a powerful one-stop location, existing and prospective businesses will find extensive information easily at their fingertips on the BUILDOP website.
In its Data Center area, BUILDOP provides detailed information about Orland Park, including a community snapshot and map, important demographics, business data, and sites and buildings. Another important factor is an area highlighting the community’s talent pool of prospective employees and their areas of expertise. Educational highlights in health professions, business, manufacturing, engineering, computer sciences, to name a few, are shown with statistics regarding college and university graduate information from associate degrees to PhD’s.
An important part of the Village of Orland Park’s vision for growth is regional development through regional cooperation. The Chicago Southland Interstate Alliance (CSIA) was formed in 2017 to create the environment of cooperation and development in the communities of Orland Park, Tinley Park, and Mokena.
The I-80 Corridor is a key part to Orland Park’s vision. Located just north of I-80, the Campus on I-80 is the Regional Mixed-Use Campus (RMC) District which is intended to develop as a high-intensity, interrelated live/ work/learn/play district.
The site is envisioned to serve a broad spectrum of users to congregate together within the District offering office, retail, multi-family, entertainment, and recreation. It can become a hub of economic activity with its special emphasis on knowledge-intensive sectors, such as class A office, research labs, advanced manufacturing, and business incubator facilities.
Businesses interested in re-locating to Orland Park are also able to complete a short online survey to provide important information about their needs and existing challenges and opportunities.
Village representatives are able to follow-up with prospective businesses and find the best possible solutions for the benefit of the business and the entire community.
BUILDOP is dedicated to assisting prospective businesses, interested developers and investors.
The dedicated and knowledgeable staff at the Village of Orland Park is eager to have a conversation about the incentives in the Developer’s Toolkit and even provide a personal tour of available sites within the Village.
Spring is coming! It’s time to renew and get together with family and friends. How about trying something new at our amazing local restaurants for a great breakfast, lunch or dinner, or spend the day getting to know our local shops and see what’s new for spring and summer?
By enjoying our dining choices close to home and shopping for everyday needs and surprise treasures throughout the Orland Park area, it’s a win-win for everyone involved.

When your local school, club, or nonprofit organization is looking for a helping hand, donation, or volunteers, among the first people to offer help and stand by at-the-ready are our local business owners. They live within our communities and their children attend our local schools. They have a stake, too, in what’s happening throughout the fabric of our community. In turn, keep them in mind first when you are making purchase decisions. (See p. 14-22 for local business listings)
With such a wide variety of restaurants in the area, it’s easy to satisfy any budget and hungry appetite. You’ll find a rich supply of choices from international fare to popular fast casual places to dine when it comes to eating out or bringing food home.
Whatever you are hungry for, there’s a special place and tasty meal waiting for you. The Orland Park area is filled with plenty of temptations for breakfast, lunch, or dinner and latenight snacks. Longtime local mom and pop restaurants and established national chains have it all.
There is no shortage of delicious options for good ol’ American favorite staples like burgers, chicken, steak, seafood and pizza, plus a wide variety of international flavors like Italian, Mexican, Polish, and other foreigninspired classics.
Craving sweets? Enjoy the richness of fresh desserts, cakes, ice cream and more, either after a meal at your favorite restaurant, or stop by a specialty dessert shop or bakery and take it home. (See p. 14 for bakery listings)
After shopping at your favorite store, boutique and shopping center, grab your family and friends to relax and sip your favorite wine or freshly brewed ale at a specialized restaurant/bar. (See p. 14 for boutique listsings; p. 2021 for restaurant and bar listings, and p. 21 for retail and shopping center listings)
And don’t forget all the other necessities of life that are available for you close to home, too.
Think local first for business and professional services, automobiles, home and garden, and everything else in-between. Your support will sustain the vibrancy of our community for many years to come.

Shopping throughout the Village of Orland Park provides a wealth of opportunities in finding the products and services you need. Whether these are every day necessities, gifts for family and friends, or spur-of-the-moment must-haves, these purchases - however big or small - support our local businesses and maintain the vibrancy of the community. Going out to shop is usually a casual experience or a time to get something in a hurry.
“The Village of Orland Park is a safe community,” said Commander Kenneth Rosinski, Public Information Officer, Village of Orland Park, “but it’s good for all of us to be aware of what’s happening around us.”
From both the business’ and residents’ perspectives, the Orland Park Police Department takes many steps to make the Village safe for everyone. They make it a priority to regularly engage with local businesses keeping them aware through presentations and suggestions regarding security measures.

Likewise, Commander Rosinski suggests that shoppers be aware of their surroundings, too. “Common-sense suggestions as locking your car, keeping your purse closed, and not leaving a store alone at night are beneficial tips of safety for everyone,” he said. “Also, it is important that ‘if you see something, say something now’. If it’s an emergency, call 911.”
Orland Square, Simon Properties Group, is considered one of the safest malls in the Chicagoland area, and Commander Rosinski states that there is a very strong and positive relationship between the Police Department, the Village, and Simon Properties.
In partnership with the Village and Police Department, Orland Square instituted a policy of limiting hours for unaccompanied teens on Fridays and Saturdays. After 3pm, teens under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or adult, 21 years or older. This family-friendly initiative has been embraced by all stakeholders and is now regarded as a model for other Simon Properties malls.
The Orland Park Police Department has regular events like “Coffee with the Cop” and “Cones with the Cop” which are held at different locations throughout the Village. These are informal opportunities to meet with local Police Officers in a friendly environment to interact and ask questions.
The Orland Park Police Department is active on social media providing information to the public. Follow the Orland Park Police Department at www.facebook.com/ OrlandParkPolice.
