Heart of the House Cook / Halal (30 hrs/wk, 10-mo)
Responsibilities: Preparation of menu items in the back-of-the house to support the Halal station, cook-to-order venues, and cash operations for breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals. This may include preparation of food for special diets, preparing sauces, gravies, and entrees using a cook and chill process, as well as pre-preparation, slicing, and chopping of items for the venues, using standardized recipes. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent is required with six months or more experience in commercial food services or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Knowledge and practical application to maintain Federal, State and College Safety and Sanitation standards, including practice of good personal hygiene. We are looking for the right person that possesses basic culinary skills, can work with minimal supervision and lift up to 50 lbs. We are willing to train. Work Schedule: During the academic year (approximately August through May) excluding breaks. Work hours will include a varied schedule that will include days, evenings, and alternating weekends. Summer employment is possible. Selected candidates will need to successfully complete a physical examination and physical assessment prior to the first day of work.
