The Jasper County Engineer is seeking qualified applicants to fill a full-time position for Skilled Laborer with the Secondary Roads Dept. Duties will vary with focus on road/bridge maintenance. Candidates are required to possess a valid Iowa CDL at the time of applying. Starting rate of pay is $25.41 per hour ($26.43 as of 7/1/25) to include County paid benefits. Jasper County Community Development is seeking qualified applicants to fill a full-time position as Inspection Technician. This position under supervision will perform a wide variety of routine paraprofessional, technical, administrative and specialized work involved in receiving and reviewing and inspections of building, electrical, plumbing, septic, wells, nuisances, pools, tanning and tattoo parlors, and related permit applications to Community Development and Environmental Health program according to standards and regulations. Selected individual will work indoors and outside, in hot, cold, dry and wet environments. Applicants will need to be able to: perform physical work, lift up to 50 lbs., walk, climb, stand, sit bend, stoop, kneel, and crawl for extended periods.

Certifications that selected candidates will need to either possess or obtain after hire date: Residential Building Inspector within 6 months of hire Residential Electrical Inspector within 1 year of hire.
