Route 38, which also is the Lincoln Highway, is seen in downtown Geneva. The Illinois Lincoln Highway – a National Scenic Byway that runs west from the Indiana border toward the Mississippi River – spans about 179 miles across Northern Illinois. U.S. Route 30 and Illinois Routes 31 and 38 comprise Illinois’ portion of the Lincoln Highway, which was the first successful, all-weather, coast-to-coast automobile highway, running from New York to San Francisco.
