Oregon Police Chief Shawn Melville reports the following police activity.
Oct. 27
Andrew N. Bjorkman, 34, of Mundelein, Indiana, was arrested at 10:23 p.m. on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for criminal damage to property. Bjorkman was transported to the Ogle County Jail.
Nov. 2
At 7:45 a.m., police investigated a two-vehicle traffic crash in the 1100 block of Jefferson Street involving a 2003 Toyota driven by Cayden R. Lewis, 16, of Mt. Morris and a 2008 Pontiac driven by Anaya J. Hitchcock, 16, of Oregon. No citations were issued.
Nov. 3
At 2:29 p.m., police investigated a two-vehicle traffic crash at the intersection of Oregon Trail Road and IL Route 64 involving a 2018 Dodge driven by Michael P. Smidt, 32, of Oregon, and a 2014 Ford driven by Owen T. James, 19, of Oregon. Smidt was issued a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
Nov. 6
Allison S. Toal, 37, of Byron, was arrested at 12:10 a.m. for driving while under the influence of alcohol. Toal was also issued a citation for driving without lights. Toal was transported to the Ogle County Jail. These violations occurred in the 100 block of E. Washington Street.
At 9:06 p.m., police responded to a disturbance call in the 700 block of S. 3rd Street resulting in the arrest of Robert D. VanDyke, 40, of Oregon, for violation of orders of protection. VanDyke was transported to the Ogle County Jail.
Nov. 7
Hannah R. Sheridan, 19, of Sterling, was issued citations at 6:34 p.m. for speeding, and possession of an improper cannabis container. These violations occurred in the 600 block of N. 4th Street.
Nov. 9
Yezamin A. Bugarin Delgado, 20, of Rockford, was issued a citation at 5:27 a.m. for speeding, 50 mph in a 30 mph zone. This violation occurred near the intersection of North 4th and Fair Streets.
Randall L. Banister, 39, of Oregon, was issued a city citation at 7 p.m. for the ordinance violation of unlawful burning. This violation occurred on the right of way at North Nohe Avenue and E. Center Street.
Nov. 10
At 11:34 p.m., police responded to a physical domestic call in the 600 block of S. 5th Street resulting in the arrest of James A. Porter, 38, of Oregon, for domestic battery and resisting/obstructing a peace officer. Porter was transported to the Ogle County Jail.
Nov. 13
Lisa Schnulle, 50, of Mt. Morris, was issued a citation at 3:53 p.m. for operating an uninsured motor vehicle. This violation occurred in the 200 block of E. Washington Street.
Matthew J. Leopold, 43, of Winnebago, was arrested at 6:07 p.m. for driving while license revoked. Leopold was transported to the Ogle County Jail. This violation occurred in the 100 block of S. 4th Street.
Nov. 14
At 5:17 a.m., Oregon Police issued Jason E. Charlet, 33, of Kewanee, was issued a citation at 5:17 a.m. for speeding, 49 mph in a 30 mph zone. This violation occurred in the 600 block of N. 4th Street.
Scott B. Cuvelier, 66, of Fort Meyers, Florida, was issued a citation at 12:20 p.m. for speeding, 57 mph in a 35 mph zone. This violation occurred in the 1300 block of Pines Road.
Jessica A. Peterson, 37, of Mt. Morris, was issued a citation at 9:06 p.m. for speeding, 45 mph in a 30 mph zone. This violation occurred in the 600 block of N. 4th Street.
Nov. 15
At 9:59 p.m., police responded to a disturbance call around the 700 block of South 4th or South 3rd Street resulting in the arrests of three people, being Elijah B. Oluduro, 21, of Rochelle, for resisting/ obstructing a peace officer; Sara V. Stallone, 20, of Rochelle, for illegal consumption of alcohol as a minor and aggravated battery to a peace officer; and Zachary J. Metzger, 21, of Cedarville, for filing a false police report and driving while under the influence of alcohol. All three individuals were transported to the Ogle County Jail. These violations occurred in the 700 block of South 3rd Street.
Nov. 16
Michael L. Pearce, 63, Oregon, was arrested at 6:09 p.m. on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for aggravated criminal sexual assault. Pearce was transported to the Ogle County Jail.
Nov. 20
Quentin L. D. Hanson, 29, of Rockford, was arrested at 6:22 p.m. for driving while license suspended. Hanson was transported to the Ogle County Jail. This violation occurred in the 100 block of S. 4th Street.
Colin P. Bucchi, 16, of St. Charles, was issued a citation at 9:32 p.m. for speeding, 48 mph in a 30 mph zone. This violation occurred in the area of 4th and Fair Streets.
Thirteen parking tickets and 24 verbal warnings issued Nov. 8-21.

Ordinance Reminders 12.08.010 Unlawful Burning
Only dry branches, leaves and grass clippings can be burned in the city limits. Branches shall not exceed 1 1/2 inches in diameter. No burning shall commence prior to 10 a.m. nor shall it be allowed later than sunset. All non-recreational fires must be extinguished by sunset. Smoldering is not allowed at any time. Burning permitted no earlier than March 1 and shall end no later than Nov. 30 of each year. No burning shall take place on any right-of-way, street, or alley in the city limits. All fires and burning shall be supervised and attended at all times by an adult. No yard waste shall be transported into the city limits from outside of the city. 24.16.010 Paragraph K: Parking On Street After Snowstorm:
After a snowfall of one inch or more has accumulated on the public streets the following rules will apply:
Vehicles must be parked on the side of the street where the even-numbered building or house would be located between the hours of 7 a.m. on that day and 7 a.m. of the following day on even calendar days.
Vehicles must be parked on that side of the street where odd-numbered building or house would be located between the hours of 7 a.m. that day and 7 a.m. of the following day on odd calendar days.
Any person who violates this paragraph K,1,c shall be fined per the fine schedule.
