OHS theater department to present comedy “Bad Auditions by Bad Actors” this month

OREGON — The Oregon High School Theater Department will be performing Bad Auditions by Bad Actors this fall, on Nov. 5, 6, and 7. The show will be held in the OHS auditorium.

Shows on Friday and Saturday will be at 7 p.m., and on Sunday at 2 p.m. The seating will be general admission and tickets will only be available at the door. The doors will open 30 minutes prior to each performance. Tickets cost $5 for students and $8 for adults.

Bad Auditions by Bad Actors is a comedy written by Ian McWethy, and follows new theater director Carol in her search for a Romeo and Juliet for the theater’s production.

With terrible auditions including modern dancers, cat impersonators, and puppets, Carol struggles to cast the parts, while her clueless assistant director Roger tries to plan his first date. Will she be able to find two good actors in time for rehearsals to start?

“The fall play is a fun and unique experience because it is student-led. It is co-directed by Abigail Rogers and Paige Beauchem, and stage managed by Sophia Stender,” said Zach Hall, OHS choir director. “These students have been in charge of choosing the play, building the set, and planning rehearsals and show dates. These directors and actors have been putting a lot of work into this show since September.”
