Whenjuries were named,citizens ofWhitesideCountyalsowouldbe named onthejury.RoadcommissionersinWhitesideCountywer e appointedbythethreeOgleCounty Commissioners ThenameOgle was suggestedby ThomasFordwholivedinOregonand waslatergovernorofIllinois.HesuggestedOgleforCaptainJosephOgle whohaddistinguishedhimselfatthe siegeofFortHenryduringtheRevolutionaryWar.Oglealsowasanearly converttoMethodisminIllinois.

OnthisparticulardayinPoloitwas notlonguntilgarbagecanswerefloatingand4inchesofwatercameupin mybasement.Iamalways reminded oflittleBuffaloBrookthatrunsundergroundinthefrontofmyhouseonits waytoBuffaloCreek. Itwasnamed afterBuffaloBrookButter yearsago. Whenthewatertableishigh,oneis introubleandmysumppumpruns continuallyallthetimeanyway.So I wasnotsurprised atwhatwasgoing oninmybasement. IgaveTedacalltocheckonthe museumforwaterandhefound 6 inchesinthebasement atAplington House.Theguysaredealingwiththat andwestillhavethingsthatwillneed tobethrownout. Thewaterinmybasementwent downasfastasitcameupandSusan swishedtherestofitdownthedrain butthereismoretocleanupand Brucewillhandlethat.
