FIELD FRESH Sarah Ford for Shaw Media

Brothers Jim (left) and David Holcomb of Albany were busy bagging up and selling sweet corn in the Erie Triangle on Sunday, July 24, as part of the Albany Lions Club’s 33rd annual fundraiser. Albany Lions and American Legion members harvested and sold nearly 2,300 bags of corn for $2 a baker’s dozen at locations in Albany, Fulton and Erie over the weekend. The corn is grown at Scott DiBlieck’s farm in Cordova, formerly the Genung farm, and is picked fresh out of the field for the day’s sales. All proceeds support the Albany Lions Club and their scholarships for local students.
