Despite the windy conditions and occasional sprinkles, the first Port Byron Farmers Market of the season kicked off Sunday, May 1, at the Blackhawk Bank and Trust parking lot, 124 N. Main St. Jamie and Kyle Eickman of Port Byron and their children Elsie, 4, and Kenneth, 6, are pictured shopping at Sharon Jennings’ 805 Garden Goods booth, featuring fresh cut flowers, handmade greeting cards, homemade jellies, spices, gift sets and more. The market will be every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., rain or shine..
