“We’re going to compete,” Schlapia said. “We’ve got a mixture of a lot of boys that have been successful in other sports and also track, that we want to carry into each practice and each meet. We’ve had success and we want to continue.”

Conference prediction: “Last year was one of the best ever for conference in terms of quality and depth, which then led to state success,” Arnold said. “There were a lot of seniors across the league that had been dominant for several years, and now that there has been a huge turnover, we look for a lot of new names to take over in the league.

Glenwood will be good again with a solid senior class. Harlan and Denison will have some good young talent to contend with. We hope to fill our returners and newcomers into new roles and challenge for the conference title.”
