Two charged with firstdegree murder in Bedford

PROM WEEKEND Creston High School held its prom “A Hollywood Dream” Saturday evening and Sunday morning. BEDFORD — Two people have been charged in the death of 56-year-old Steven C. Malson who died from a gunshot wound to the head at 1509 Bent St., in Bedford Wednesday. Malson’s death has been ruled a homicide. Malson’s wife Cindy Malson, 47, and son Zachary Malson, 24, C. Malson of Bedford have both been charged with firstdegree murder after a thorough investigation by Taylor County Sheriff’s Office — this according to an Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation press Z. Malson release. Cindy Malson is being held in Ringgold County Jail on a $300,000 cash-only bond. Zachary Malson is in Adams County Jail on a $1 million cash-only bond.
