Hannah Atherton & Tyler Hammitt Bruce and Patti Atherton of Walnut announce the engagement of their granddaughter, Hannah Elizabeth Atherton of Walnut, the daughter of the late Margaret Atherton, to Tyler Lee Hammitt, the son of Rob and Tracy Hammitt of Princeton.

The bride-elect is studying business and marketing at Minot State University in Minot, North Dakota.

Her fiancé serves in the Air Force.

He is pursuing an engineering degree.

Her fiancé is a 2010 graduate of Sterling High School. He is employed by Marine Biochemists in Elburn.

The couple are planning a June 30, 2018 wedding at Barnacopia in Polo. Invitations have been sent.

Mike Molitor of Bloomington and Jodi Dempsey of Sterling announce the engagement of their daughter, Anne Molitor to Jeremy Risley, the son of Tom and Debbie Gisi of Rock Falls.

Anne is employed at Riley Children’s Hospital, and her fiancé, Jeremy, is employed at Roche Diagnostics in Indianapolis.

The couple are planning a fall wedding on Oct. 20, 2018, at St. Alphonsus Ligouri Catholic Church in Zionsville, Indiana.

Kahlys celebrate 50th wedding anniversary

and Mason McMahon, Cheyenne and Montanna Johnson, Konner and Kolten Smith, and Jace Fuller.

Larry retired from Stephenson County in Freeport, and before that, worked for ComEd in Cordova.

Mari retired as the owner of Mari’s Daycare, providing daycare services for nearly 40 years.

Before that, Mari worked as the seamstress for Sterling Fashions.

Mr. & Mrs. Steven Gunderson Steve Gunderson and Dianne Crofton were married Sunday, June 16, 1968, at Milledgeville Church of the Brethren.

Dianne met Steve at the A&P in Sterling, while he was working his way up from bagging groceries to managing the produce section. Steve went on to work for many years as a copier sales and service professional for Haskell’s and SBM. Dianne is

Dennis retired from the Army and U.S. Postal Service in Sterling. Mary, now retired, was a stay-at-home parent and homemaker, and former employee at Dixon Public Schools and Illinois Central bus garage in Dixon.

He was born in 1928, at home outside of Stillman Valley. Bob continues to farm.

She has several nieces and nephews.

She married the love of her life, Virgil Floto, on Sept. 1, 1956.

They were married for 55 years before he passed away in 2012.

She has three children, Lisa Shaheen of Amboy, Les Floto of Amboy, and Laurel (Bruce) Gerardy of Stillman Valley. She has eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The commencement ceremony was Sunday, May 6, 2018, at Aurora University.

While at AU, Lauer received the MSW Foundation Field Instruction Student Award for 2016–2017.

Amanda is the daughter of Tom and Kim Lauer.

She will be working for the Harlem School District.

Lauer plans to work toward becoming clinically licensed.
