Bureau County United Way (BCUW) will host its first annual Run for a Claus 5K Run/Walk this Saturday, Dec. 10. The race starts and finishes at Soldiers and Sailors Park, at the corner of Park Avenue and South Main Street. The race begins at 9 a.m. Registration on the day of the event begins at 8 a.m. in the park, however, those who wish to pre-register may do so at www. signmeup.com/117685. Runners and walkers who pre-register for the event are $25 per individual. Save money and sign-up as a group of five or more — the cost will be $20 per individual. Runners and walkers who register on the day of the race are $30 per individual. All participants will receive a BCUW Santa hat. First- through third-place medals will be given out for the following age categories: 10 and under; 11-14; 15-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69 and 70 and over. All proceeds raised from this event will benefit the BCUW.
