Shadows of the Blue and Gray brings the Civil War to life The memory of the Civil War will never die, and events like Shadows of the Blue and Gray help bring the war to life, allowing attendees a glimpse of what life in that era might have been like. On Saturday, Oct. 10, and Sunday, Oct. 11, Princeton’s City-County Park will be the scene of battles and demonstrations of the methods a typical Civil War era field hospital would use to care for the wounded. Artisans will demonstration how people back then made candles, brooms, tools and blacksmith and woodworking goods. A Civil War fashion show will highlight the fashion of the 1860s. President Abraham Lincoln and his wife, Mary Todd Lincoln, impersonated by Max and Donna Daniels of Wheaton, will be at the event all weekend. Admission is $5 for ages 6 and older; kids 5 and under are free (children must be accompanied by an adult).
