Area youth will witness the culmination of a year’s worth of hard work at the 4-H Fair. Judges will evaluate the quality and creativity of their entries, with 4-H members choosing from more than 250 different categories to dedicate their time, including visual arts, food and nutrition, clothing and textiles, animals and more ... The projects are displayed on tables specifically assigned for different categories, and all sorts of livestock are brought to and kept at the fairgrounds to be displayed and judged, including sheep, goats, poultry, horses, swine and cattle. The exhibit buildings open at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, July 23, closing by 8:30 p.m. each evening, and the event runs through the awards program at 5 p.m. Saturday, July 25. All 4-H members who receive an Illinois State Fair ribbon are invited to display their projects at the Illinois State Fair on Aug. 17.
