Welcome to the 4-H Fair PRINCETON — The Bureau County 4-H Fair begins this week at the Bureau County Fairgrounds in Princeton. The event kicks off Thursday, July 21 and runs through Sunday morning, July 24. This event features the culmination of all the 4-H members’ hard work and efforts on the projects they chose to participate in this year, and that project will be judged and discussed with each members. Four-H members receive a blue, red or white ribbon; some projects will earn a superior ribbon or a best junior exhibitor (for those not yet 10 years old). Some projects will be designated as those worthy to be shown at the Illinois State Fair. A variety of trophies, plaques and monetary awards are also awarded to outstanding projects. Besides the project judging, 4-H members will be able to participate in a variety of other activities including the Ag Olympics, a fashion revue, Bob Talbot Memorial 4-H Sale of Champions, an awards program, and a horse speed/gaming event. The Bureau County 4-H Fair is open to the public. There is no cost to attend. The public is invited to visit the exhibit buildings and watch the livestock judging, public speaking contest, the cat show, the dog show, the horse speed/gaming show and all other events.
