Ride the Z Tour The 2017 Z Tour Bike Ride is set for Saturday, July 15, throughout Bureau County.

There is something for every level of cyclist. Participants can choose from routes of 10, 30, 50, 65 (new), and 100 miles (new).

There are well-marked routes, and there will be support at the themed rest stops and a post-ride meal.

Additionally, organizers are planning for local band favorite, 212, to entertain from noon to 3 p.m. at Zearing Park on ride day.

Taking a step back in time

Ol’ Fashun Threshun Days offers something for everyone

OHIO — The Bureau Valley Antique Club will host its 40th annual Ol’ Fashun Threshun Days Saturday, July 15, and Sunday, July 16.

The event takes place in Albrecht’s Grove, located two miles south of Ohio, then one-half mile west of Route 26.

Admission is $4, and parking is free.

On display will be antique tractors, engines, steamers, threshers, cars, trucks and farm equipment.

There will also be a flea market, craft show, parade on grounds, petting zoo, rope making, kids’ entertainment saw mill and threshing wheat from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. both days.

Come hungry because on Saturday, there will be a farmer’s market breakfast menu in the morning and pork chop sandwich supper at 5 p.m. On Sunday, there will be a pancake and sausage breakfast, all you can eat, from 6:30 to 10 a.m.

There will also be a lunch stand available both days, and popcorn and homemade ice cream will also be sold.

On Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. DJ Paul Robert will play old time country traditional favorites. Then from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Jack Ness One-Man Band will play keyboard, trumpet and vocals from the Big Band Era. On Sunday, there will be a tractor ride at 9 a.m., church service at 10 a.m. and at noon a tractor pull hosted by River Bend Antique Tractor Pullers Association.

Drawing for a super raffle will also take place Sunday at 4 p.m. First prize is $200, and second prize $100.

Members of the Bureau Valley Antique Club spend the day cutting and collecting wheat they will thresh during the 40th annual Ol’ Fashun Threshun Days weekend event, to be held Saturday, July 15, and Sunday, July 16, in rural Ohio.

Prepare to get Wet and Wacky SHEFFIELD — Cornerstone Community Wellness in Sheffield will offer its third annual children’s Wet and Wacky obstacle course race at Sheffield’s Veteran’s Park at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 15.

The race is open to children 3-11 years of age and includes eight obstacles that require the kids to run, jump, spin and dance their way to the finish line. Prepare to get messy!

There is a recommended $10 donation per participant.

Registration forms can be found online at www.ccwell. org/childcare or filled out prior to the race. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. with the race divided by age groups beginning at 11a.m. Parent or guardian must be present to race.

DEPUE — The seventh annual DePue Celebration 5K will be Saturday, July 29 during the Lake DePue PRO National Championship Boat Races weekend.
