Lunch, anyone? The Princeton Chamber of Commerce-sponsored Lunch in the Park event is held nearly every Friday throughout the summer months on the lawn at Soldiers and Sailors Park on South Main Street in Princeton. Typically, the lunch runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. or until all the items are sold out. Early in the year, the Chamber holds a lottery, where any entity wishing to participate in Lunch in the Park throws their name in a hat for either sponsoring Lunch in the Park or a bake sale at the event. All the proceeds from the event go to help non-profit agencies in the area. Check the Chamber’s website to see who is sponsoring the Lunch in the Park and the bake sale each week. The Bureau County Republican also posts those who are cooking or baking in every Wednesday edition. Besides a great meal at a great price, event-goers can enjoy a pleasant atmosphere under the trees at Soldier and Sailors Park while spending time with colleagues and friends.
