Spring = gardens, gloves and more The sun is out; the breeze is warmer; and gardeners all over are itchin’ to start digging in their gardens. It’s that time of year again to dust off the gardening tools, roll up the sleeves and hand select this year’s seeds. Mary Grieff of Princeton has already kicked off her gardening season. The asparagus in her vegetable garden has sprung from the soil and is ready to be picked. Grieff has been gardening since she was a young girl, and it’s a hobby she and her husband enjoy doing together. The Grieffs plant just about everything possible — from vegetables and fruits to flowers. If you ask Grieff to list off what she has growing in her garden, she’ll say “it’s better to ask what we haven’t planted.” Bedding plants, seeds, shrubs, trees and more are plentiful at area merchants. Please shop locally for all your planting and gardening needs. IV Scene photo/Goldie Currie
