Be informed The Bureau County Republican will host two forums to help voters cast their ballots in the April 4 consolidated election. At 6 p.m. on March 22, the BCR will conduct a forum for candidates for the Princeton Park District. There are six candidates running for two seats on the board. This forum will be at the Bureau County Metro Center in Princeton Following the park board forum, Princeton Elementary School District Superintendent Tim Smith will speak to the crowd about the upcoming PES referendum on the ballot. The evening will close with a candidate forum for the five candidates running for two seats on the Princeton City Council. At 7 p.m. on March 23, the BCR will host an informational forum for Bureau Valley School District residents. Each Bureau Valley Board member will be give five minutes to talk about the upcoming referendum, which will build a new school in Sheffield and make improvements at Bureau Valley North in Walnut and Bureau Valley High School. This forum will be held at Bureau Valley High School auditorium. As always, no questions will be taken from the crowd during the events. The forums are not debates, rather a time for voters to gather information about the candidates, referendum. School board members and candidates will be available after the event to personally answer any questions.
