The family of Robert (Bob) Horton & Friday would like to thank the United States Air Force & Davis Pence Post #69 Honor Guard, Dr. Al, the caring neighbors at Southview Apts., Todd & everyone at Kales for the beautiful send-off for our Dad, Father-in-law, Grandpa, Great Grandpa, Brother, Brother-in-law, Uncle, Cousin, & good friend on Dad’s final earthly flight. Thank you, Steve Gilbert for the special remembrance of Dad being an independent small business owner. Thank you, Nigel, for the sharing of special memories of Grandpa from all the grandkids. Dad proudly served our country in the Navy & US Air Force, & it carried over into his civilian life. Thank you to our home town of Osceola, Clarke Co., & Southern IA for supporting Dad through the years at Neidts Appliance & Osceola Water Board. We have heard time & time again that Dad was an honest, hardworking, decent man from the previous customers and citizens of Clarke County & 307th Refueling Squadron. Always looking towards the future for the betterment, not just for himself, but for the entire community and Southern IA. Dad was definitely “old school,” always had great advice & common sense. We always knew where home was. So, when you look towards the sky & see a vapor trail, it might be Dad, Mom, & Mother cruising at an altitude of 7,500 through the atmosphere, enjoying their loop-de-loops, making designs to let us know they’re watching over us.
