El programa de Grants-to-Counties ofrece asistencia con la rehabilitacíon de su pozo para que pueda ser utilizado para beber. (hasta $1000 por pozo) El programa también ofrece reembolsos de hasta $500 para el costo de tapar un pozo apropiadamente o $300 para añadir una cisterna

La definición de “pozo abandonado” dice que es cualquier pozo de suministro de agua que ya no está en servicio, o que este en malas condiciones físicas y no pueda ser reparado e utilizado seguramente.

Pozos abandonados son un peligro para el suministro del agua potable, pero también plantean un peligro para personas, animales y equipo o vehículos. Cada año en nuestro estado, un número de individuos es lesionado o pierde la vida debido a que caen en pozos viejos y olvidados. Es la responsabilidad de cada propietario asegurarse de que sus propiedades no tengan ningún pozo que pueda ser potencialmente un peligro para alguna persona o agua subterránea.
