DIFFERENCE IN LINGUINI’S HOUSE BEFORE AND AFTER

The house before he became the owner of the hotel is shown to be very compact and has a little corner for kitchen area. Here the lighting is also very dim and it is focused on the main part. The windows are slant and the view outside shows it to be at a good height. The furniture look old and worn out and the place looks very messy indicating his life. -

The house after he became the owner is a shown in a grandeur manner. The house is big and the staircase gives a sense as it having floors. The ornate columns and walls also gives a sense of richness. There are huge windows which gives ample amount of natural light. The view from the window gives us a hint of the house having a backyard or a garden area. He has also made a little space for his friend and given a bed and couch by the window. Huge and grand Very clean and new Ample sunlight and has great ambience Light coloured walls Special place for the mouse and also customized furniture.
DIFFERENCE IN OLD AND NEW RESTAURANT – THE DOORS
The doors have clearly been for a very long time which is quite visible
The chef had to use a ladder to get to the glass window to peep outside.
The colours – red and metallic and the materials on the side – wood all indicate towards the old interior styles where wood is extensively used.
The doors look all new and freshly painted. The metal part also looks freshly coated.
This time the little chef has been given a special space to take a peek at the customers of the restaurant
The colours – olive and orange and the materials – tiles all indicate modern style and it shows that they have adapted to modern interior techniques.

THE BATHROOM BEFORE AND AFTER THE DEATH OF HIS SISTER
A small petite bathroom which looks very messy and unorganized.
Since they live in a very small space, a lot of items are just kept here which is making the space looks chaotic and busy.
They have also tried to accommodate different functions by having the WC on a height through steps. They also use the steps to sit.

A scene showing the image of the former house owner, a subtle reference is done showing Alfred Hitchcock. He was one of the celebrated and noteworthy filmmaker of his time (20 th Century). The referencing is done by the director in a sequence which was very detailed out and correctly conveyed.

Looks grand and welcoming - The colours used here – the red, pink and materials – stone, carpet and chandelier all portrays richness and grandeur of the space.

Looks shabby and unwelcoming - The colours used here – the orange, green and brown gives away a very shabby feel. The brown bulky furniture gives a very unwelcoming feel to the customers.

The red and pink carpet with patterns and motifs makes for a great flooring and looks grand. The stone cladding on the columns on ground floor makes the place looks expensive and also gives out a royal feel.

The carpet here looks very plain and boring. It looks empty and speaks about the slow paced life there.

The ceilings here are illuminated ceiling which is a modern touch due to the time period. The ceilings being brought down gives a very compact feel and thus it feels suffocating.

The circular reception also changes to a basic regular rectangular one.

High Ceiling – The high ceiling for the central atrium gives the space a feeling of grandness and it makes them feel welcoming.

Looks grand and welcoming - The staircase looks grand due to the type of it and also the carpeted floors.

The red in the reception back on the landing of the staircase gives a stark look and welcomes the customer in.
Looks shabby and unwelcoming - The colours used here – the orange, green and brown gives away a very shabby feel.

The light fixtures are very ornate and gives off a very traditional vibe.
The staircase looks cold and very industrial.

The signage above also looks vintage.
The signages everywhere looks inspired form the industrial era that it was in.
