Our MISSION is giving our vulnerable children SUPPORT, OPPORTUNITY, and HOPE by breaking destructive cycles through community partnerships.
Children's Fund Founded in 1986 by the Honorable Patrick Morris, the late Jack H. Brown, and Co-founder A. Gary Anderson, Children’s Fund is a public/private partnership and nonprofit that is filling the gaps of support for youth experiencing poverty, abuse, and neglect. Last year, Children’s Fund provided over 110,000 services to children in need in San Bernardino County and since its inception has facilitated over 1.75 million points of service to children and families.

The benefit of our partnerships is that the children and families that are in need the most are served because our partners have vetted the need. The families continue under case management for additional guidance after our support, so they can avoid being in an emergency situation again.
We Believe that partnerships with primary advocates to youth such as social workers, counselors, and case managers are the key to building a consistent foundation. Children’s Fund works collaboratively with over 50 agencies, nonprofits, and school districts across San Bernardino County to ensure that brighter futures are built upon a support system that puts the children first. Our programs and partnerships operate under three pillars of our mission-SUPPORT, OPPORTUNITY, & HOPE.
SUPPORT We support children throughout the year through our Emergency Needs Program, Care Campaigns, and especially at the holidays through our Celebration of Giving. Emergency Needs Program: Last year, 1,464 children were supported with tangible items such as food, new clothing, personal hygiene products, refrigerators, beds/bedding, orthodontic care, and other items to meet a vital and immediate need. Care Campaigns: Each year, we organize drives for items needed by our children, such as backpacks, school supplies, jackets, and shoes.
OPPORTUNITY Last year, 241 foster youth between the ages of 18-25 were provided a scholarship and many more benefited from mentorship programs. Scholarships: We provide scholarships at CSU San Bernardino, Cal Poly Pomona, and four San Bernardino County Community Colleges. Mentorship: We also have designated funds to support a mentorship program at our local Universities. This program gives the students the support and confidence needed to achieve academic excellence, greater self-esteem, and personal growth.
HOPE Last year, over 1,800+ children were evaluated for sexual abuse, physical abuse, and/or severe neglect at the Children's Assessment Center. At the Center, specially trained forensic pediatricians and nurse practitioners, forensic interviewers, victim advocates, therapists, and law enforcement engage these children in a safe and comforting environment, significantly reducing their trauma. Our many prevention programs provide Hope to children and families, including legal aide clinics, financial literacy workshops, literacy programs, and community training sessions on topics such as poverty, CSEC-Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children, cultural diversity, and LGBTQ populations.
