SHARE respectfully acknowledges that our work takes place within the ancestral, traditional and unceded territory of the Kʷikʷəƛəm (Kwikwetlem), Qiqéyt (Qayqayt) and Coast Salish Nations. SHARE recognizes the systemic discrimination that Indigenous people have historically experienced, and continue to face in our society, and in our community. SHARE is committed to help reconcile these past injustices, and to work for a more just, inclusive and compassionate future together.
SHARE Family & Community Services Society (“SHARE”) has served the communities of Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Anmore, Belcarra and New Westminster for over 52 years. So much has changed in the past five decades, but what remains the same is SHARE’s commitment to help everyone living in our communities reach their full potential.
Our 2024-2027 Strategic Plan reflects this commitment. We are focusing on the needs of the people we serve – on continuing to wrap supports around people during times of vulnerability. SHARE is here – for the family struggling to make ends meet and buy healthy food for their children, a little one who needs help learning to walk and talk, a senior who is isolated and in decline, a refugee family overwhelmed and without resources, a young person battling depression and anxiety, a neighbour slipping into addictive and destructive behaviours, or a community member facing a renoviction by their landlord - SHARE is here to help.
We are also focused on the needs of our team. SHARE is fortunate to have a team of over 100 professionals and paraprofessionals delivering evidence-based, high quality, innovative programs. Clinical counsellors, speech language pathologists, tenant advocates, family support workers, physiotherapists, program coordinators, early childhood educators, employment coordinators, legal advocates, youth workers, truck drivers, and more each bring a wealth of knowledge and hard work to SHARE. In addition, SHARE has thousands of volunteers that ensure our programs run as efficiently as possible. Our 2024-2027 Strategic Plan reflects our commitment to supporting those doing this important work.
And finally, we are focused on our community. SHARE has expanded as this community has grown. In addition to serving over 24,000 people each year, SHARE is also playing our part in addressing the crises affecting our community – the lack of affordable housing, the high cost of living and the toxic drug supply. By listening and leading, SHARE will continue to connect, engage, and strengthen our TriCities community in the face of whatever challenges may come.
We invite you to explore our priorities for 2024-2027 and we welcome you with us on the journey ahead.
