Nucor is partnering with Share Charlotte to provide our teams with group volunteer opportunities.
SHARE Charlotte is an online platform designed to make it easy to find and support local nonprofits through sharecharlotte. org. They have over 850+ nonprofits on their site that serve Mecklenburg County!
Through Nucor’s partnership with ShareCharlotte, teammates can get personalized help finding the perfect volunteer opportunity in Charlotte for groups of any size. Contact Melissa Hovey (melissa@sharecharlotte.org) to set up an activity for your team to serve our community together.
HERE ARE SOME EXAMPLES:
• Catawba Riverkeeper Foundation - help them clean up our rivers and streams to keep our water sources safe
• Freedom School Partners - needs reading buddies and school supply shoppers
• Second Harvest Food Bank - help them sort and inspect food donations.
• Envision Charlotte - help weave sound panels out of old t-shirts
• Diaper Bank - help count and wrap diapers/pull-ups and prepare them for distribution to families in need
American Heart Association
The American Heart Association promotes longer, healthier lives through research funding, advocacy, volunteer action, and trusted science-based health information.

For Charlotte Family Housing
Join us on Friday, May 29 from 10:00–11:00 AM for a meaningful and hands-on volunteer event with Charlotte Family Housing!
Nucor teammates will help assemble breakfast kits for children attending summer camp through Charlotte Family Housing, giving kids a nutritious start to the day so they can learn, play, and thrive with the energy they need for summer fun.
In addition to volunteering, we’ll hear directly from and during a special fireside chat with Louise Bhavnani and Elizabeth Kurtz.
They’ll share more about the organization’s inspiring mission to empower working families experiencing homelessness to achieve lifelong self-sufficiency through shelter, housing, supportive services, and advocacy.
