About Do Good Week
SHARE Charlotte’s ninth annual Do Good Week (April 21-25), powered by Honeywell, is Charlotte’s local celebration of National Volunteer Week. It’s a week focused on rallying our community to Do Good locally through volunteerism, supporting hundreds of local causes and organizations.
Since 2016, over 32K volunteer opportunities have been applied for through sharecharlotte.org - way to go, Neighbors!
Here’s what we know to be true about volunteerism
• Small acts make a BIG impact!
It’s easy to assume that small efforts don’t make a difference, but the reality is quite the opposite. A single hour of tutoring a child, organizing donations at a food pantry, or cleaning up a park can have a ripple effect, inspiring others and strengthening our community. The latest data suggests that one hour of volunteer time is worth $33.49/hour to a nonprofit!
• Our nonprofits need us now more than ever!
Nonprofits are the heartbeat of our community, working tirelessly to address issues from hunger and homelessness to education and mental health. However, right now, many local organizations are facing financial and operational challenges. But you can provide hope! By showing up, we help bridge the gap and give these organizations the resources they need to keep serving neighbors.
• Serving others improves your mental health!
Research consistently shows that people who volunteer experience lower levels of stress and anxiety, improved mood, and greater overall life satisfaction. When we engage in meaningful service, we’re not only helping others—we’re giving ourselves the opportunity to connect, to feel valued, and to find purpose beyond our daily routines.
The following pages highlight opportunities to make an impact this spring - join us in spreading good and building a stronger Charlotte together!

This year’s Do Good Week is Powered by
Honeywell
Honeywell’s global Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives improve lives and inspire change in communities around the world. Giving back is central to our culture, and one way we do that is through volunteerism. We’ve set an ambitious goal of contributing 100,000 employee volunteer hours by 2025 -and Honeywell Futureshaper are well on their way to making lasting impact!
Quick facts about Honeywell’s corporate social responsibility program:
• In 2024, Futureshapers logged more than 55,000 volunteer hours.
• Honeywell invested $10.8M in non-profit partnerships and impact program.
• Champions for Impact are employees who plan volunteer activities at Honeywell sites around the world and we’re always looking for new members.
• The Honeywell Humanitarians Relief Foundation helps employees who have been impacted by natural disasters.
Here in Charlotte, N.C., our headquarter city, Honeywell has established partnerships with many non-profit organizations that support our philanthropic focus on STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math.)
These partners include:
• Digi Bridge
• Eliminate the Digital Divide
• Carolina Youth Coalition
• Charlotte Mecklenburg Library Foundation
• Charlotte Mecklenburg School Foundation
• Central Piedmont Community College
Thank you, Honeywell, for your support!
